  • Patent number: 11601974
Abstract: A network node (120) and method therein for performing multi-channel access procedures in a License-Assisted Access, LAA, cell in a wireless communication network are disclosed. The network node selects one carrier as a master carrier and starts a Listen Before Talk, LBT, channel sensing for all carriers at a same or different point in time. The network node further stores LBT channel sensing results for all carriers for at least the last two slot durations of a subframe and checks if the LBT channel sensing on the master carrier is successful based on its LBT channel sensing result. When the LBT channel sensing on the master carrier is successful, the network node checks the LBT channel sensing results for all other carriers, and transmits on the master carrier and the carriers where the LBT channel sensing is successful at the subframe boundary or earlier than the subframe boundary.

  • Patent number: 11350456
Abstract: A network node (110) and method therein for evaluating a channel in a License Assisted Access, LAA, cell in a wireless communication network (100) are disclosed. The network node starts a Listen Before Talk, LBT, procedure for data transmission when a Discovery Reference Signal, DRS, is to be transmitted; and start an LBT procedure for DRS transmission in parallel with the LBT procedure for data transmission when a time of the LBT procedure for data transmission reaches a predefined value or the LBT procedure for data transmission fails.

  • Patent number: 10735174
Abstract: Exclusion functionality for License Assisted Access, LAA, in LTE is defined. LAA exclusion is a temporary deactivation or throttling of scheduling on LAA Secondary Cells (SCells), which allows a requesting UE (11) to periodically, or upon demand, send data or perform measurements on Wi-Fi networks using the same receiver circuitry (18), e.g., radio front end, without risk of losing LAA traffic. A UE sends an exclusion request to its serving base station, eNB (31) and receives an acknowledgement. The UE (11) may include parameters, e.g., duration or periodicity, in the request, and the acknowledgement may include overriding parameters. By the introduction of the exclusion functionality, the UE (11) can share receiver circuitry (18) between Wi-Fi and LAA, hence reducing hardware device size, cost, and power consumption.

  • Patent number: 10609539
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a network device and methods for broadcasting a system information message that is associated with a time window. More particularly the disclosure pertains to ensuring reception of a SI message in a UE. In particular, the disclosure relates to a method, performed in a network node, for broadcasting a system information message that is associated with a time window 34. The method comprises detecting S1 that the system information, SI, message is of a predetermined message type, transmitting S2 the system information message in a first subframe 35a of the associated time window, and transmitting S3 the system information message in at least one second subframe 35b of the associated time window, in response to the detection that the system information message is of a predetermined message type.

  • Patent number: 9553682
Abstract: Testing radio equipment is described wherein an interfering signal is swept in frequency with a step size that is chosen proportional to the bandwidth of the receive channel of the radio equipment. For example, a respective frequency bandwidth (BCh) is determined of a plurality of receive channels of the radio equipment. A proportionality constant is selected for a frequency step size. For each respective receive channel, interfering radio signals are generated and the interfering radio signals are controlled to stepwise sweep in frequency outside of each respective receive channel. The stepwise sweeping of the interfering frequency is performed with a frequency step size that is a product of the respective bandwidth and the selected proportionality constant. Any spurious response is detected in the respective receive channel.
