Abstract: The present invention relates to data logger units, sensor units, and in particular those which are suitable for sensing the hygienic state of an absorbent article. The present disclosure also relates to a method of identifying a sensor unit for an absorbent article performed by a data logger unit adapted to cooperate with the sensor unit, as well as an absorbent article management system. The data logger unit and the sensor have identification terminals. A characteristic property of the sensor unit is encoded in the potentials at each of the identification terminals. The data logger unit can decode the potentials at each of the identification terminals to determine the characteristic property of a connected sensor unit.

Abstract: There is provided a hygiene monitoring device including a sensing panel. The sensing panel has an elongate flexible panel defining a longitudinal axis. The elongate flexible panel includes a first pair of plates spaced apart from each other in a direction crossing the longitudinal axis. The elongate flexible panel also includes a second pair of plates spaced apart from each other in a direction crossing the longitudinal axis. The first pair of plates and the second pair of plates are disposed on a flexible substrate of the elongate flexible panel. Each plate of the first pair of plates and each plate of the second pair of plates is elongate along the longitudinal axis of the elongate flexible panel. The hygiene monitoring device is configured to measure the impedance between two of the plates.

Abstract: There is provided a system including a wearable absorbent hygiene article defining a front waist region, a back waist region, a crotch region and a longitudinal axis. The wearable absorbent hygiene article includes a liquid permeable top layer, a back layer opposite to the top layer, and an absorbent core in the crotch region and located between the top layer and the back layer. The absorbent core has a core length along the longitudinal axis. The system further includes a hygiene monitoring device including a sensing panel, which has an elongate flexible panel defining a longitudinal axis and having plates. The hygiene monitoring device is configured to measure the impedance between two of the plates. The extent of the plates along the longitudinal axis of the elongate flexible panel defines a sensing length. The sensing length is 50% to 100% of the core length.
