  • Publication number: 20190320384
Abstract: A method performed in an electronic device for establishing, in an energy-efficient way, a wireless connection to a cellular network, where the electronic device is configured to support wireless connection to a plurality of cellular networks. The method includes obtaining a current position of the electronic device; determining, as a function of the current position, a set of available cellular networks, said set being a subset of the plurality of cellular networks that are supported by the electronic device; and scanning the set of available cellular networks.

  • Patent number: 9396044
Abstract: A processor device executes program code in one or more threads. The processor device detects a call of a function in one of the threads and executes the function in a further thread. Further, the processor device performs a selection between saving a state of the processor device when starting execution of the function in the further thread and not saving the state of the processor device when starting execution of the function in the further thread. In response to a conflict related to the execution of the function in the further thread, the processor device may perform a rollback to a last saved state of the processor device and execute the function in the thread in which it was called.

  • Patent number: 9177194
Abstract: A face is detected and identified in a digital image. A weight is calculated and assigned to the detected face based on characteristics of the face and social media connections between the person identified from the face and a target viewer of the digital image. One or more image effects are applied to the digital image to visually distinguish the detected face from other parts of the digital image and/or in relation to other faces detected in the image.

  • Patent number: 7698687
Abstract: An electronic device for determining usability of a coded file in an application includes at least one file matching unit associated with an application, which receives at least one property of a code file, matches the property against the application, generates an indication indicating if the file can be used in the application or not based on the matching, and associates the indication with the coded file for later enabling a decision about use of the file in the application.

  • Publication number: 20080318638
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of using ring signal files in a portable communication device, such a portable communication device as well as a computer program product for performing the method. The portable communication device (10) comprises a radio communication unit (30) for receiving ring signal files (RSF1, RSF2) and incoming phone calls, a file storage (36) for storing received ring signal files and a play list file (PLF) associated with the received ring signal files and a ring signal handling unit (34), which sets the play list file for use in alerting incoming phone calls and plays ring signal files according to a playing order of the play list file. The radio communication unit orders, upon receiving incoming calls, the ring signal handling unit to select ring signal files according to the playing order and play these selected ring signal files for alerting a user of the incoming calls.

  • Publication number: 20030050049
Abstract: A system and method for providing periodically updated information to a mobile terminal wherein the mobile station is configured to receive via a wireless communications link a periodically updated stream of messages. Each message of the stream of messages includes a mobile internet protocol link. Data contained in the stream of messages is displayed at the mobile terminal outside of a mobile internet protocol browser. The mobile internet protocol link may be actuated in order to display information at the mobile terminal through the mobile internet protocol browser.
