  • Publication number: 20130108492
Abstract: A pair of gripping frame e hingedly connected together at one end thereof. Cooperating rollers are rotatably coupled to the gripping members adjacent the hinge therebetween. The rollers are positioned adjacent one another whereby a uniform space is created between the parallel, aligned surfaces of the rollers which are adapted to receive flexible fluid-filled tubing connected to a blood donor bag. When the gripping frame members are positioned adjacent one another, the aligned surfaces of the rollers will fully compress the surfaces of the tubing. Opposed crimping heads coupled to the gripping frame members are adapted to crush a securing clip disposed about the tubing thereby sealing the fluid-filled tubing when the heads are positioned adjacent one another.

  • Patent number: 5853356
Abstract: The present invention comprises a pair of gripping handles between which a planar elastic band is supported. The coupling between each handle and the elastic band prevents inadvertent disengagement of the handle from the end of the elastic band and provides means for adjusting the distance between the handles and the force exerted. The end of the elastic band is directly supported by the end flange of the handle. A suspension clip having a bracing member extending parallel to the end flange is adapted to be removably disposed upon the end flange of the handle. A locking link having a central slot is adapted to be disposed adjacent the end flange in juxtaposition to the suspension clip. The end of the elastic band is threaded through the central slot of the locking link disposed about the bracing member of the suspension clip and threaded back through the central slot of the locking link.

  • Patent number: 5730320
Abstract: A dispensing apparatus for packaged products which includes a plurality of parallel channels, each of which independently positions products for dispensing. Each product dispensing channel is separated from the adjacent channel or channels by a removable divider wall and is adapted to support and dispense packaged products having a common configuration. The product packages aligned within a dispensing channel are supported upon a pair of parallel guide rails which extend from the rear to the forward position of the dispensing apparatus. A positioning member is disposed within each channel and is slidably engaged upon the parallel guide rail. The positioning member is biased toward the front dispenser support thereby positioning all product packages within a dispensing channel adjacent one another and forwardly toward the front dispenser support.

  • Patent number: 5423505
Abstract: An apparatus for supporting and displaying non-prescription eyeglasses upon a cantilevered merchandise display assembly. A substantially rectangular, planar base member has a pair of temple supports depending downwardly therefrom at the lateral extremes of the base member. Each temple support has an aperture disposed therethrough for receiving one of the temples of the eyeglasses. The temple supports are partially severed outwardly from the circumference of each aperture in order to accommodate temples of varying sizes. The edge of the base member intermediate the temple supports is adapted to be spaced above the bridge of the eyeglasses and thereby avoid interference with the nose gap of the eyeglasses. The upper edge of the base member opposite the temple supports is extended upwardly into a support flange which is selectively engageable with the merchandising display assembly.

  • Patent number: 5188323
Abstract: An apparatus for supporting medical supplies which is ambulatory and provides improved load-support capabilities. A vertical standard is mounted upon an ambulatory base and includes a plurality of independent fluid or equipment hanger assemblies. Each hanger assembly is vertically movable and is capable of supporting substantial loads (e.g., 25 pounds). A pulley system is coupled to the hanger assembly and an engagement positioner. The pulley system transmits the selected vertical movement of the engagement positioner to the hanger assembly while concurrently reducing the mechanical force required to position the load suspended from the respective hanger assembly.

  • Patent number: 5046274
Abstract: An apparatus for mounting and displaying banners or like non-rigid media. The display apparatus employs at least three display frames which are rotatable about an illuminated central axis of rotation. Each of the display frames comprises a structure for mounting banners or other non-rigid display media formed to be received within the display frames. Receiving apertures are uniformly disposed about each display frame. The media to be displayed is stretched across the frame and secured to the receiving apertures in a manner which will place the banner under uniform tension across its entire surface. Each supporting element of the display frames is coupled to an independently pivoting cover member having a width sufficient to extend beyond and obscure the receiving apertures from view.

  • Patent number: 4310955
Abstract: A clamping apparatus for mechanically separating cellular elements suspended in whole blood solutions. After subjecting sealed packets of whole blood to centrifugal forces which will cause isolation of red and white blood cells, the packet is inserted within the present invention apparatus at the interface of the isolated red and white cells. A pair of parallel, spaced clamping surfaces are brought into juxtaposition with the sides of the blood packet along the cell interface causing the interior surface of the blood packet to mechanically isolate the cells along the edges of the opposed surfaces. A pair of securing arms are urged against a resilient force secured across the clamping surfaces to maintain a substantially constant force along the entire portion of the blood packet in contact with the clamping surfaces.
