  • Patent number: 8926739
Abstract: This invention relates to a portable odor scrubber system that is inserted into a sewer manhole or lift station where vaporous odors are prone to escape into the external environment. The invention controls such odors which may be caused by hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, mercaptan and other vapors which smell bad and can pose a severe health hazard. The invention has an automatic gas sensor trigger mechanism to control a fan to pull the noxious fumes through a series of scrubbers and to discharge treated air into the environment. Scrubber units may be easily replaced as well as designated to treat different environmental conditions. The invention can also store and transmit gas data information to an offsite location to monitor conditions where the portable odor scrubber system is located.

  • Publication number: 20120060819
Abstract: The invention is a stove system that is portable, has a double walled external structure for the passage of air used in combustion of the fuel, which air also maintains the external surface at a cool enough temperature that it can be touched, and which air flow prevents the waste of heat laterally to the ambient air from a hot outer surface. This increases cooking efficiency, because almost all heat that reaches the air flow between the two walls is drawn right into the combustion chamber in the form of preheated air by reason of the chimney effect. Thus almost no heat can escape the outside wall except by reaching the cooking pot bottom and pot sides after passing out the cover vents as exhaust. An internal heat concentrator ring improves the overall efficiency of the burner. The stove is preferably powered with coal, and uses about half as much coal as a conventional coal fired stove resulting from cooking efficiency. Provision is made for generation of electrical energy from the excess stove heat.

  • Publication number: 20110139713
Abstract: The invention comprises a method of treating waste water using a formulation that stimulates microorganisms and increases biological activity. Also included is the method for preparing the formulation used in the method. The formulation is both environmentally and physically safe. The formulation in the inventive method increases the respiration and reproductive rates of most bacteria. The method includes introduction of the formulation into a waste water treatment system non-selectively which enhances aerobic biological activity, thereby improving both carbonaceous and nitrogenous removals. The formulation is especially effective for endogenous situations. The non-selective nature of the formulation enhances most biological activity, thus allowing for overall performance improvements within a waste water treatment plant and in other activities.

  • Publication number: 20110123638
Abstract: This invention describes method to facilitate intradermal delivery of a great variety of active substances, especially including high molecular weight cosmicuticals. Also disclosed is a method of applying the composition of matter resulting from the method topically to patients, especially using a cream or patch. The active substance is initially combined with a biopolymer, which combination is subsequently linked to a base formulation whereby the base formulation aids in the intra-dermal delivery of the active substance without the skin irritation limitations of other formulations and dermal transmitting methods. The method of using a combination of natural herbal, vegetable and animal products combined in this invention with biopolymers permits molecules of higher molecule weight to penetrate into the skin in a bioactive form by passive delivery means. The invention includes a method for the improvement of skin health and wrinkle reduction.

  • Patent number: 7422909
Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for gas sampling from a harsh environment which comprises a chemically resistant plastic housing suitable for suspension in a confined spacial environment. The housing has apertures for inlet and outlet tubes by which sampled air is drawn into and then discharged from the housing. Included are two three way valves to control selective fluid communication with the environment, a gas sensor, a filter selectively remove contamination from the housing and prevent saturation of the gas sensor, a pump disposed within the housing to effect selective fluid flow through the gas sensor and filter, and a power source that is preferably batteries. The apparatus electronics are all integrated into an electronics module configured so as to communicate with an external readout in a remote location via several methods.

  • Patent number: 7101265
Abstract: The present invention includes an apparatus for delivery of pressurized particulate matter against a surface or target to abrade, texture, sandblast, etch, erase, cut, penetrate, smooth, clean, polish, harden and/or deburr the surface or target. The invention is expected to be used in slightly different embodiments, both by dentists and oral hygienists to clean teeth, and by hobbyists, although numerous other uses are within the contemplation of the inventors. The dental embodiment features a prefilled, sealed, and disposable fluidizing chamber and cannula assembly that avoids contamination and which has been approved by the FDA for dental use. The general utility embodiment features a refillable fluidizing chamber and detachable cannula.

Abstract: The invention is a gravity fed dispensing apparatus for waste water treatment biocatalyst. It uses a microprocessor to control an electromechanical solenoid value in order to dispense predefined amounts of liquid. It preferably comprises six major components. They are: 1) a printed circuit board, 2) a battery, 3) a solenoid valve, 4) a body having a base and a housing, 5) a reservoir, and 6) a hanger. The unit has the smallest footprint available for dispensing biocatalyst or other vital products into a waste water treatment system.

  • Publication number: 20030001439
Abstract: A new and novel method and apparatus to treat flowing fluid is disclosed. Electrical energy (EMF) is produced by the flow of a magnetically charged fluid through an inductor. The device produces a magnetic field upstream of the inductor/pick up coil through which a magnetizable fluid is passed. The fluid is imparted with a magnetic energy field as it flows through the chamber containing the magnetic field generator and hence through a coil of conductive wire wherein an induced electrical current is generated. The induced EMF generated is then fed back into the fluid stream through an electrode arrangement whereby the electricity produces an electrolysis of the fluid releasing gases at the specific electrode. The gases produced are carried by the fluid to the application point. The device can be used to condition and enhance any hydrocarbon based fuel to give better combustion efficiency and reduce emissions.

  • Patent number: 6354924
Abstract: The present invention includes an apparatus for delivery of pressurized particulate matter against a surface or target to abrade, texture, sandblast, etch, erase, cut, penetrate, smooth, clean, polish, harden and/or deburr the surface or target. The invention is expected to be used largely by hobbyists, although numerous other uses are within the contemplation of the inventors. Included is a fluidizing chamber having a discharge end of an inlet tube that is disposed below or overlaps the intake end of the cannula such that the discharge of the inlet tube blows the particulate matter into the fluid above the intake end of the cannula, thereby suspending it therein, without clogging. The invention further provides for dual check valve function in several different embodiments to prevent backflow of particulate matter in the event of a drop in pneumatic pressure, and also to prevent excessive pressure from reaching the fluidizing chamber and cannula in the event of a pressure surge.

  • Patent number: 6004191
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved apparatus for delivery of pressurized particulate matter against a surface or target to abrade, etch, erase, cut, penetrate, smooth, clean, polish and/or harden the surface or target. The most important use to which the present invention is adapted is use by dentists and oral hygienists to very effectively clean teeth, employing a particulate matter such as aluminum oxide, while at the same time having no effect on soft tissue such as the gums. This is accomplished using a prefilled, sealed, and disposable fluidizing chamber and cannula assembly that avoids contamination and which has already been approved by the FDA for dental use. Included is a fluidizing chamber having a discharge end of an inlet tube that is disposed below or overlaps the intake end of the cannula such that the discharge of the inlet tube blows the particulate matter into the fluid above the intake end of the cannula, thereby suspending it therein, without clogging.
