    Abstract: Shaving units as well as methods and apparatus for producing such units by using laser energy to weld a narrow elongated razor blade strip to a support member. In one form of the invention, a perforated welding mask made from a metal having high reflectance to the laser energy is employed to define the spacing of the welds joining the two members.
