    Abstract: A key and lock system is provided for enabling circuits of a vehicle. A key including a plurality of male contacts is inserted into a lock. Predetermined pairs of male contacts are connected to each other. A plurality of female contacts are arranged to receive the male contacts. Circuits of the automobile are connected to the female contacts. If a pair of male contacts is properly mated to a pair of female contacts circuits of the automobile are enabled. The lock can be reversed wire so that either side of the key can be inserted into the lock.
