  • Patent number: 5005732
Abstract: A spout, adapted for attachment to an oil can or the like, has a generally tubular configuration. A tubular sleeve permits partial or total occlusion of the flow of liquid by axially moving the sleeve portion. Thus the spout may be closed before turning the oil can over for pouring the oil into an engine, then releasing the flow of oil when the spout is safely engaged into the engine crankcase inlet. Six embodiments of the invention are disclosed.
