  • Patent number: 4391003
Abstract: A water-saving device for toilets is provided which when employed in a conventional toilet tank allows for flushing a conventional toilet employing an amount of water which is substantially less than usually employed. The water-saving device of the invention employs a combination of a lower float and an upper float; upon flushing, the lower float functions as a closure member for the orifice in the bottom of the toilet tank and the upper float is adapted to bear against the lower float to force the lower float to seat in the orifice of the tank after the level of water in the tank has been reduced to 75% or less of the water normally used in flushing a toilet. In addition, locking means and related control means are provided for releasing the upper float when the toilet is flushed and for locking the upper float in an immobile position when the flush has been effected.

  • Patent number: 4350373
Abstract: An adjustable coupling device is provided which can be secured to each of two sections of conduit, such as two hoses or pipes, by hand, without the need for employing tools. The coupling device comprises a socket member and a plug member which are adapted to be adjustably positioned with respect to each other as one or both members wear, said plug member being adapted to be removably and adjustably disposed in said socket member. The above plug member includes interior walls which define a bore, and securing means, such as teeth or recessed portions. The socket member comprises a body portion having a bore running therethrough defined by the interior walls thereof, which bore is adapted to receive said plug member in a manner such that the bore of said plug member is in communication with the bore of said socket member, and at least one connecting member attached to said socket member and adapted to engage said securing means of said plug member.

  • Patent number: 4344649
Abstract: Baby carriers are provided which may be deployed in a reclining position as a bed, in an upright position as a seat or chair, or semi-reclining or semi-upright position therebetween and which may be employed in conjunction with collapsible frames to provide strollers, carriages, high chairs, youth chairs, bathinettes and the like. One embodiment of the collapsible carrier involves three-way carriers which is easily converted from seat or chair into a reclining attitude to function as a bed. The three-way carriers include a head-back rest portion, body or seat portion and leg rest portion. Movement and positioning of one of the head-back rest portion and leg rest portion will cause corresponding opposite movement and positioning in the other. The baby carriers of the invention may also be employed without the above-mentioned support frames, as a self-sustaining unit and as such may function as a car bed, infant seat, youth chair and the like.

  • Patent number: 4265481
Abstract: Collapsible baby carriers are provided which may be employed by themselves as car beds, car seats, or infant seats or in conjunction with collapsible frames to provide strollers, carriages, high chairs, youth chairs, bathinettes and the like. One embodiment of the collapsible carrier involves three-way carriers which require no locks or fasteners, remain open as long as an infant is positioned therein and when desired, are easily collapsed. The three-way carriers include a head-back rest portion, body or seat portion and leg-foot portion. The positions of the head-back rest portion and the leg-foot portion may be adjusted independently of each other.
