  • Publication number: 20160362902
Abstract: A fastening system for decking boards (16) includes a series of supports (14) that define a central raised wall (24) and two planar portions (22) located either side of the wall. A stem (52) depending from a generally semi-circular washer (18) extends into a recess in the wall. Slots in the decking board run along both sides of the board. A first pair of supports is located on a bearer (12) and a first board is supported on the planar portions (22) of the supports, above the bearer. One half of the semi-circular top (50) of one washer is rotated to extend into the slot in the side of the decking board. A second board is located adjacent the first board on the support. A further support is slipped under the side of the second board. A washer in the further support is rotated and locked in place with a screw.

  • Patent number: 9482014
Abstract: A vertically-adjustable support structure (10) for supporting paving slabs or the like includes a base plate (20) on which four wedge-like support blocks (30) are provided. Each support block (30) has an inclined surface defining a series of teeth/steps, and a horizontal top surface. A chock (40) is placed on top of each support block (30) to support a corner of a paving slab. Each chock includes an upper support surface (70) for supporting the paving slab, and a sloped underside (280) which defines teeth (290) which engage the teeth of the support block and secures each chock against displacement towards the base plate. Moving the chock up or down the inclined surface adjusts the height of the support structure. Additional height adjustment is provided by adjusting the height of the chocks themselves. In particular, each chock includes wings (320) which are hinged to the sides of the chock. In one orientation with the side elements disposed on opposed sides of the chock the chock has a first height.

  • Publication number: 20160244979
Abstract: A fastener (30) for attaching surface tiles (12) or the like to a support pedestal (10), wherein the pedestal includes a base and a head member for directly or indirectly supporting a tile. Each tile corner comprises a triangular slot (24) for receiving the fastener (30), which is generally rhomboidal in shape, with a central slot (32) extending between two opposed corners of the fastener. A tab (34) projects from the corner of the fastener adjacent each slot (32) end. An anchoring means such as a screw, in use, is located in the slot, and screws into the head of the pedestal (10). In use, the fastener can be located in or moved out of the slots in the sides of the surface tiles and the sliding movement can be used to secure the tiles to the pedestal or to disengage a tile when removal of a tile is required.

  • Patent number: 8696241
Abstract: A drainage cell comprises a backing plate defining a plurality of holes, a series of conical tubular structures having side walls and a base extending from the backing layer, the tubular structures being in fluid communication with at least some of the holes in the backing plate thereby allowing fluid to pass through the holes into a generally tubular structure. Sides of the tubular structures define apertures permitting fluid flow out of the tubular structures. Typically, the open area of the tubular structures is at least 20% of the area of the side walls of the tubular structures, and most preferably 70 to 75% of that area. Providing apertures in the side walls of the tubular structures significantly improves the rate of flow of the water through the cell and creates a higher internal drain void volume area.

  • Patent number: 8490342
Abstract: A support means (100) for engaging a batten, joist or the like (200), includes a circular rotatable plate (110). The plate has depending legs (112) for engaging the support means with a support structure such as a pedestal jack or the like, in a manner which allows the support means to be rotated about a vertical axis passing through the centre (111) of the plate. The support means (100) further includes two opposed upstanding walls (120, 122) defining a gap for receiving the batten, joist or the like. The walls are disposed either side of the axis and extend from a centermost position closest to the axis (111) to a distal end farthest from the axis.
