Patent number: 11187492Abstract: An assembly for a modular, compact firearm includes a universal action and an interchangeable, non-reciprocating barrel. The barrel may directly mount various optical sighting systems and provide integral muzzle compensation and sound suppression capabilities. The firearm utilizes a universal action comprised of a slide assembly, breechblock assembly, recoil assembly, and receiver which mounts a variety of barrel assemblies and assembles into a variety of different grip frames. The action of the firearm utilizes a partially-locked breechblock which amplifies the inertia of a slide.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2020Date of Patent: November 30, 2021Inventor: Henry Hanson Mumford

Patent number: 6582279Abstract: An apparatus and method of reclaiming a disk substrate. The cost of reclaiming a disk substrate can be lower, and the quality higher, than making a new one from a blank. A layer of a data storage disk is stripped, e.g., by acid/oxidizing bath immersion. The stripped disk is polished in a carrier between polishing pads, with the relative velocity of the polishing pads as seen by the disk being precisely controlled so that an equal amount of stock is removed from each side. Preferably, several stripped disks are sorted into groups based on disk thickness, and disks from one of the groups are simultaneously polished in the carrier. Sorting improves stock removal uniformity from disk to disk. The polished disks are cleaned and, preferably, ordered in a cassette for stacking in a storage device based on disk thickness to more easily meet a mean center specification.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2002Date of Patent: June 24, 2003Assignee: Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Netherlands B.V.Inventors: Dennis L. Fox, James A. Hagan, John Patrick Hagen, Paul Henry Hanson, Theresa Marie Lewis, Janice Blue Ostrom, Douglas Howard Piltingsrud, Steven F. Starcke, R. Paul Thicke

Patent number: 6184676Abstract: A test head for a semiconductor integrated circuit tester comprises a housing which has an air inlet opening and an air outlet opening and bounds a pin card space and an air chamber. Multiple pin cards are located in the pin card space and radiate from an interior cavity which is within the pin card space. A baffle structure divides the air chamber, which is separated from the pin card space by a boundary surface, into an air supply duct which provides communication between the air inlet opening and the interior cavity and an outlet plenum which provides communication between the pin card space and the air outlet opening by way of the boundary surface. A fan is mounted in the interior cavity for inducing a flow of air from the interior cavity to the plenum by way of spaces between the pin cards.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 1999Date of Patent: February 6, 2001Assignee: Credence Systems CorporationInventors: David A.
