Publication number: 20230129156Abstract: A thermometry apparatus used during hyperthermia therapy, which has a mat that can be used in combination with a non-invasive thermometry system. The mat has a top face and a bottom face. Between the top face and the bottom face are embedded wires. The wires provide skin and treatment head thermal information based on the thermal coefficient of resistance of the wires or via two metals in a thermocouple configuration. The mat is placed between the skin and an ultrasound head. The mat is flexible enough to conform to the patient’s body shape at the treatment point. The mat may be used in combination with an infrared camera, where at least one IR camera is pointed at a semi perpendicular angle to the mat, whereby the IR camera measures the temperature directly from the mat side and continually below the ultrasound head providing thermal depth measurements.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2022Publication date: April 27, 2023Applicant: HYPERTHERMIA CANCER INSTITUTE LLCInventors: Henry Harrison LANDAU, Cynthia KEPPEL

Patent number: 6969826Abstract: A process for repairing a compressor rear frame of a gas turbine engine. The process entails removing a seal flange from the inner casing wall of the frame to define an annular face on the casing wall, and fabricating a replacement flange to have an annular face with a radial width greater than the radial width of the annular face of the casing wall. The faces of the flange and wall are mated to form a joint, a penetration-enhancing flux is deposited adjacent the joint, and a single-pass gas tungsten arc welding operation is performed to form a root weldment that extends completely through the joint. The flux is then removed and a gas tungsten arc welding operation is performed to deposit a filler on the root weldment and form a second weldment that completely overlays but does not penetrate through the root weldment.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2004Date of Patent: November 29, 2005Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Gary Edward Trewiler, Daryl Peacock, William Henry Harrison
