  • Patent number: 5765960
Abstract: A connector comprising a body having a body central bore defining a body axis, one end contoured to conform to a surface of a support member, and another end shaped to coaxially abut a free end of a hollow member. An expansion element is carried by the body for close entry into the hollow member when the body and the free end abut. A drive element passes through the body central bore and has one end adapted to engage the support member, and another end engaging the expansion element, to impart a radially outward force component to the expansion element as at least a portion of the drive element is drawn toward the one end of the body. The expansion element can be in the form of resilient fingers cantilevered from the body into the hollow member, and the drive element can be a wedge member drawn by a bolt, toward the one end of the body, for urging the resilient fingers outwardly.

  • Patent number: 5686700
Abstract: An adjustable management grommet for routing cables, wires, and the like, through a surface having an integrally formed body with a cylindrical shell and a planar wall at one end thereof, and an integrally formed circular cover rotatably mounted in snap fit fashion at the center of the wall of the body. Both the wall of the body and the cover have sector-shaped apertures which can be aligned by rotating the cover to define an adjustable opening for easy installation and removal of plugged cabling. Detents projecting from the cover successively engage dimples on the wall of the body as the cover is rotated to define a plurality of discrete opening sizes to snugly accommodate installed cabling.

  • Patent number: 5042764
Abstract: The free end of each leg of a chair, desk, or table has a glide member secured thereto for resiliently distributing at least the neutral weight of the furniture onto a floor. The glide has a base for contacting the floor and a rivet assembly engaging the chair leg. A cup-like urethane cushion is located between the rivet assembly and the base for transferring the chair load resiliently, thereby deflecting the cushion in the vertical direction commensurate with the load. In alternative embodiments, the cushion is augmented or replaced by a coil spring. Thus, each glide adjusts individually for leveling the piece of furniture.
