  • Publication number: 20240358910
Abstract: A system for treating a wound, having a wound treatment device, a fluid input upstream side of the device, a fluid output downstream of the device; an air inlet valve upstream of the fluid output; an actuator to drive the air inlet valve between open and closed positions; a pump downstream of the fluid input; a motor to drive the pump to provide a negative pressure to the device; and a controller in configured to operate the air inlet valve and the pump. The controller is configured to (i) open the air inlet valve and operate the pump to maintain a first vacuum pressure at the wound treatment device and introduce air into the device, and (ii) close the air inlet valve and operate the pump to maintain a second vacuum pressure at the wound treatment device and remove air and fluid from the device.

  • Patent number: 4966695
Abstract: A high pressure liquid chromatography jacket includes a rectangular, fluid-tight enclosure which has a removable cover on which a pair of tubing seal fittings are mounted. The fittings form a fluid-tight seal around the inlet and discharge tubes of a chromatographic column which is mounted in the enclosure. The enclosure is connected to a source of temperature controlled fluid which circulates through the enclosure and controls the temperature of the chromatographic column. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, a valve is provided which allows sample materials being loaded to enter a sample storage loop, which is exposed to the temperature controlled fluid. The sample, whose temperature has been controlled by the temperature controlled fluid, is then injected into a chromatographic column under high pressure.

  • Patent number: 4523934
Abstract: An all-TEFLON filter-degasser for removing solids and gases from a solvent. The filter-degasser has a filtering portion, a vacuum application portion downstream of the filtering portion, and a solvent bottle connecting portion. The vacuum application portion includes an externally tapered male member, and the solvent bottle connecting portion includes an internally identically tapered female member. The male member can be inserted into and withdrawn from the female member without requiring any relative rotation therebetween, so that the filter-degasser can be connected hermetically airtight to the solvent bottle likewise without any rotation being required therebetween. This abstract is not to be taken either as a complete exposition or as a limitation of the present invention, however, the full nature and extent of the invention being discernible only by reference to and from the entire disclosure.
