  • Patent number: 5445286
Abstract: A flat, comparatively shallow box containing an arrangement for keeping a comparatively flat food item warm for a protracted length of time, with this box having rectangularly-shaped top and bottom members of approximately equal size. The top and bottom members are hingedly secured together by a hinge disposed along an edge common to both members, with the top member having side members disposed along each of its remaining side edges. The bottom member has a flap disposed on the edge opposite the hinge, such that closure of the box can be effected after a comparatively flat food item has been inserted into the box. The arrangement for keeping a food item warm is a sealed container for a heat-retaining substance, the container being disposed in the interior of the box, affixed to the underside of the top member.

  • Patent number: 5017746
Abstract: An extension device of unitary, non-metallic construction for use by a small person in operating an electric toggle switch utilizing a spaced pair of screws for securing the switch plate to the outer portion of the toggle switch. This device comprises an arm of elongate, relatively rigid construction having a handle at one end, and a switch-contacting member at the other end. The switch-contacting member has a hole therein insertable over the lever component of the toggle switch, with a slot in the switch-contacting member closely adjacent the hole. A strap member is utilized for holding captive the switch-contacting member of the arm to the switch plate of the toggle switch.

  • Patent number: 4397403
Abstract: Disclosed is a container end with an integral opening apparatus which includes pull means for tearing a tab defined by a score line from the container end to form an opening. The score line is substantially U-shaped and the pull means is attached on the tab near the base of the U. Since the score line is U-shaped, the top of the U which defines one end of the tab is not severed from the container, thus the tab may be folded over the edge of the container end and maintained in a captured position out of the way of the user.

  • Patent number: 4345696
Abstract: Disclosed is apparatus for forming an opening in a sealed container. A score or weakening groove is formed in the container end to define a tab which includes a raised boss. An opening bar movable with respect to the container but affixed thereto is moved over the container end to contact the raised boss. The tab is thus depressed into the container and severed along the weakening groove to form an opening. The opening bar is positioned over the tab during shipment and during the initial opening procedure to protect the tab during shipment and to protect the user from the contents of the container during the initial opening procedure.

  • Patent number: 4112792
Abstract: There is disclosed an adjustable ratchet wrench including a disk member with ratchet teeth on its periphery and hub portions of reduced diameter on each side. A centrally disposed rectangular opening is provided in which a double acting lead screw is mounted. A pair of jaws are threadedly mounted on the lead screw for movement toward or away from each other dependent upon the direction of rotation of the lead screw. A two piece body is provided which defines an elongated handle and two parallel, spaced apart members which terminate in a generally circular, enlarged ratchet holding head having circular openings in which the hub portions of the ratchet disk are received. A pawl is provided for controlling the direction of ratchet movement.
