  • Patent number: 11874213
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include methods for adjusting sensitivity of a photodiode in a light detection system. Methods according to certain embodiments include detecting light with a light detection system having a photodiode and an amplifier, determining responsivity of the photodiode over a plurality of wavelengths of light and adjusting one or more parameters of the amplifier in response to the responsivity of the photodiode over the plurality of wavelengths of light. Systems (e.g., particle analyzers) having a light source and a light detection system that includes a photodiode and an amplifier for practicing the subject methods are also described. Non-transitory computer readable storage medium are also provided.

    Assignee: BECTON, DICKINSON AND COMPANY
Inventors: Timothy W. Petersen, Pierce O. Norton, Henry Lankila, Eric D. Diebold
  • Patent number: 11530977
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include a particle sorting module having an opening that is configured for visualizing droplets of a deflected flow stream. Particle sorting modules according to certain embodiments include a housing having a proximal end, a distal end and a wall therebetween having an opening positioned in the wall that is configured for aligning the flow stream with one or more sample containers at the distal end. Systems and methods for aligning a flow stream with one or more sample containers and sorting particles of a sample (e.g., a biological sample) are also provided. Kits having one or more of the particle sorting modules suitable for coupling with a particle sorting system and for practicing the subject methods are also described.

  • Patent number: 11441996
Abstract: Flow cytometers having an enclosed particle sorting module are provided. Aspects of the flow cytometers include, in addition to the enclosed particle sorting modules, a sample input module fluidically coupled to an inlet of the enclosed particle sorting module, a waste reservoir fluidically coupled to first outlet of the enclosed particle sorting module and a first sorted particle collection system fluidically coupled to a second outlet of the enclosed particle sorting module. Flow cytometers as described herein are configured to control aerosol content in the enclosed particle sorting modules, including the sort chambers of such modules. Also provided are methods of using the flow cytometers, as well as kits that include one or more components of the flow cytometers are consumables for use therewith.
