  • Publication number: 20060201053
Abstract: A multi-layer wood pest barrier having a prolonged lifetime that can be as long as the life of a building or structure to be protected. The lifetime protection is achieved by binding at least one pesticide within a continuous or discontinuous polymer matrix layer thereby substantially reducing release of the pesticide from the matrix. The release rate of the pesticide from the matrix can be controlled by the use of a carrier such as carbon black. The release of the pesticide from the barrier can be further controlled by inclusion of additional layers which can make the barrier substantially non-releasing.

  • Patent number: 5878875
Abstract: A cigarette container having a unitary, integral outer envelope utilizes a series of folds within discreet folding domains to form a lower cigarette containing portion and an upper flip top portion containing a match drawer cavity. A conventional inner insert is glued to the inner surface of the outer envelope to retain the cigarettes firmly but permit easy access thereto. A rectangular drawer for housing stick-type matches is provided which can be accessed from either side of the cigarette container. A striker surface is coated on one or more sides of the drawer as a convenience to left and right handed smokers.

  • Patent number: 4420204
Abstract: Disclosed is an electrical wiring device attachable to a power cord, formed of two pieces, and having a dead-front supporting contact elements of the male or female type. One of the pieces comprises the dead-front and the contact elements that it supports, integrally hinged to a first sidewall member. The dead-front in an outwardly swung position exposes the contact element terminals in a manner to facilitate connection of the power cord conductors to the terminals. When the connection is made, the dead-front is swung inwardly to a position in which the conductor lies upon the first sidewall member. A second sidewall member or cover, forming the other piece, is then slidably interengaged with the inwardly swung dead-front responsive to movement of the cover into a position overlying the first sidewall member.

  • Patent number: 4381063
Abstract: A weatherproof cover assembly includes a housing and a pivotally attached cover in a configuration in which no gasket is required between the cover and the housing. The housing includes a base having an aperture therethrough, an outer wall and an inner wall. The cover includes a flange which is located between the inner and outer walls when the cover is closed. The cover, the inner and outer walls, and the flange together inhibit entry of liquids into the assembly. A hinge construction for pivotal attachment of the cover to the housing includes a cylindrical opening in the cover and a pivot insert attached to the housing. A cylindrical torsion spring, having end loops on a diameter thereof, is retained in the hinge by slotted posts in the cylindrical opening and on the pivot insert. The cover pivots about sleeve portions of the pivot insert.

  • Patent number: 4298104
Abstract: A carrying handle assembly for luggage, parcels and the like comprised of first and second handle halves arranged to be releasably joined with one another and contoured to facilitate gripping and carrying without causing discomfort to the hand. Each handle half is comprised of a cooperating mating element consisting of a contoured outer handle part and an inner locking part, the inner and outer parts being positioned on opposite sides of an upwardly extending flap integral with one of the major side surfaces of the luggage and adapted to be sandwiched between the aforesaid inner and outer parts. Interfitting male/female type joining members secure the inner and outer parts of each handle half to one another. The inner handle parts of each handle half are respectively provided with cooperating openings and projections adapted to be interfitted and releasably secured to one another to facilitate both closure and carrying of the luggage piece.
