    Abstract: The improved cable guard of the present invention comprises a support member having a swing arm pivotally connected thereto at an angle. A cable retainer means having two bores therein for retaining the cables is pivotally mounted on the swing arm. The angle between the support member and swing arm is such that when the bow is drawn the distance between the cables, which are contained in the cable retaining means, and the plane of bowstring travel is less than the distance between the cables and that plane when the bow is at rest.

    Abstract: A cable guard assembly is disclosed for use with a compound archery bow which comprises discrete cable retainers that are separately slidable on a cable rod. The cable retainers are of different lengths and the cable rod is located within noncircular openings in the cable retainers. A resilient circular element is provided on the rod between the cable retainers for noise reduction.

    Abstract: A strong, lightweight metal handle for a compound bow. The bow handle may be machined from a bar of stock metal such as aluminum or an alloy thereof. The handle is formed with one or more recesses or one or more recesses can be thereafter machined out of the handle. The recess or recesses extend from the side of the handle under compression when the compound bow is drawn and extend toward the side of the handle which is under tension when the bow is drawn.
