  • Patent number: 12678899
Abstract: A tool for contouring an airfoil comprises a main body that includes a locator portion and an upper portion. The locator portion includes an engagement surface and the engagement surface is sized and configured to engage an airfoil. The upper portion includes an edge slot sized and configured for placement of an edge of the airfoil into the slot. An abrasive material is applied to the sides of the edge slot. The upper portion and the locator portion are together sized and shaped so that when the edge of the airfoil is disposed in the edge slot and the engagement surface of the locator portion is simultaneously pressed against the airfoil, engagement of the abrasive material with the edge of the airfoil is effective to contour the edge of the airfoil to a preselected and desired shape.

  • Patent number: 12031446
Abstract: A servicing tool for a turbine engine and a method for using thereof are provided. A method includes inserting the tool into an access opening of the turbine engine, contacting a blade of the turbine engine, and removing material from the blade. The tool may comprise a wiper mount and a wiper, including a wiper surface, configured to contact and remove material from the blades. The tool may further comprise a body, an actuator, and fluid flowpaths for deploying the wiper and providing fluid locally to the blades of the turbine engine.

  • Publication number: 20220067275
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes accessing, by a processor, an unstructured document. The method also includes performing, by the processor, box detection on the unstructured document to generate a box graph of the unstructured document. Further, the method includes integrating, by the processor, identified text of the unstructured document with the box graph of the unstructured document to build a text graph. Furthermore, the method includes generating, by the processor, a structured text representation of the unstructured document using the text graph.

  • Patent number: 8801502
Abstract: A tool for in-situ airfoil contouring is provided. The tool has a pathway for an airfoil edge wherein the edge movement is limited and further wherein the edge is exposed to a grinding structure having a preselected profile shape therein. The tool makes this contouring process available for airfoils without the necessity of removing the airfoils from, for example, an aircraft engine.
