Abstract: A fishing bobber which releases chum when cast into the water, the bobber comprising a buoyant main body to hold the chum, this main body having a main opening covered by a closure lid. The closure lid is maintained in place by a line member which extends through a tubular opening in the main body, the line member being of greater length than the main body, thus allowing the closure lid to separate from the main body and release the chum. The line member is connected to the cast line and the closure lid is connected to the weighted hook line, so that in the water the buoyancy of the main body and the pull of the hook line on the closure lid cause them to separate.
