Patent number: 8576521Abstract: A controller-based detection system configured to adaptively learn to distinguish between detected light that is indicative of an arc fault event and detected light that is not related to an arc fault event. In particular, the detection system is configured to observe the electrical power system as it is operated under various conditions to induce light events that are unrelated to arc fault events. Using the observed information about the light events that are unrelated to arc fault events, the detection system determines one or more detection algorithms. During normal operation of the electrical power system, the adaptively determined one or more detection algorithms are utilized to identify arc fault events in the electrical power system.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 2011Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: Schneider Electric USA, Inc.Inventors: Barry Rodgers, Henry Patrick

Patent number: 4068928Abstract: A counter electrode structure of a transition metal electrochromic compound for use in an electro-optical device, which is useful in control of visible and infrared absorption by windows, in data display devices and the like, typically comprising in sandwich arrangement a pair of electrodes, and disposed therebetween, a layer of transition metal electrochromic compounds and a semi-solid highly conductive sulfuric acid gel electrolyte, one of the electrodes being said counter electrode. The gel exhibits good conductivity, stability and compatibility with the electrochromic layers. The present counter electrode is more efficient and has a longer lifetime.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1976Date of Patent: January 17, 1978Assignee: American Cyanamid CompanyInventors: Marion Douglas Meyers, Henry Patrick Landi

Patent number: 4057935Abstract: A guard grille for a window, door, or the like, has a retainer member which is fixedly attached thereto and which is adapted to releasably engage a latching mechanism which is retained on the wall adjacent to a window frame. The latching mechanism includes an inner latching member which is attached to a slidably mounted rod and an outer retainer collet which in the latched position retains the latching member within the retainer member. A spring is placed between the inner latching member and the retainer member, this spring being compressed when the mechanism is in the latched condition. The mechanism is unlatched by means of a knob located adjacent to the inner wall surrounding the window frame, this knob being attached to the rod connected to the inner latching member. Inward actuation of the knob moves the inner latching member away from the retainer collet against the spring, thereby releasing the latching mechanism, the spring and actuation by the operator driving the grille away from the window.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1977Date of Patent: November 15, 1977Assignees: Rod G. Rohrberg, Henry P. TrentzInventors: Rod G. Rohrberg, Henry Patrick Trentz, Victor Herbert Ziegler

Patent number: 3950261Abstract: A substantially anhydrous liquid iodophor detergent solution is used as a pre-surgical skin cleansing agent. This substantially anhydrous system in which the iodophor is stabilized by the addition of iodides can be incorporated easily into surgical scrub sponges without the expense, delay, and degradation of sponge material resulting from heating to remove the water of aqueous systems to produce a substantially anhydrous product that will not prematurely hydrolyze and deteriorate during prolonged storage.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1975Date of Patent: April 13, 1976Assignee: American Cyanamid CompanyInventors: Henry Patrick Landi, Vincent Anthony Perciaccante
