    Abstract: An RF launch architecture that includes a circuit board including a conducting trace on a first side with a via proximate to the conducting trace and extending from the first side through the circuit board to a second side. Also included is an RF coaxial cable that has 1) a ferrule, coupled with a metallic shield of the cable, coupled with the second side and in electrical communication with the second side, 2) an insulator extending through the via to exit from the first side, wherein the ferrule surrounds a portion of a periphery of the insulator; and 3) a center core located within the insulator and extending through the via to exit from the first side, the center core extending above the insulator.
