  • Publication number: 20170180795
Abstract: A client device accesses a video input stream from an intermediate device for display. The client device analyzes the video input stream to determine that the video input stream matches a template indicating a portion of the video input stream that is created by the intermediate device. Based on the video input stream matching the template, a video output stream generated by the client device is modified to include the portion of the video input stream generated by the intermediate device. For example, commercials transmitted from a national content provider to a smart TV via a set-top box may be replaced with targeted commercials. During the replacement, informational messages or menus generated by the set-top box may be detected and the replacement video altered by the smart TV to include the messages or menus generated by the set-top box.

  • Publication number: 20170180794
Abstract: A client device accesses a video input stream from an intermediate device for display. The client device analyzes the video input stream to determine that the video input stream matches a template indicating a change of content source. The analysis is performed while the client device is generating a video output stream that replaces video content received from a content source via the intermediate device. Based on the video input stream matching the template, the client device ceases replacement of the video input stream. The client device continues to analyze the video input stream and determines that the video input stream matches a second template indicating a return to the original content source. Based on the video input stream matching the second template, the client device resumes replacement of the video input stream.

  • Publication number: 20170180793
Abstract: A client device accesses a video input stream from an intermediate device for display. The client device analyzes the video input stream to determine that the video input stream matches a template indicating a semi-transparent overlay. Based on the video input stream matching the template, a video output stream is generated and caused to be presented on a display. In some example embodiments, the analysis is performed while the client device is replacing video content received from a content source via the intermediate device. For example, commercials transmitted from a national content provider to a smart TV via a set-top box may be replaced with targeted commercials. During the replacement, semi-transparent menus generated by the set-top box may be detected and the replacement video altered by the smart TV to include the menus.

  • Publication number: 20170150213
Abstract: A client device accesses a video input stream from an intermediate device for display. The client device analyzes the video input stream to determine that the video input stream matches a template indicating a change of speed. In some example embodiments, the analysis is performed while the client device is generating a video output stream that replaces video content received from a content source via the intermediate device. Based on the video input stream matching the template, the client device modifies the video output stream to show the change of speed. For example, commercials transmitted from a national content provider to a smart TV via a set-top box may be replaced with targeted commercials. During the replacement, fast-forwarding of the commercial may be detected by matching a template with the video input stream. While the video input stream is being fast-forwarded, the smart TV fast-forwards the targeted commercial.

  • Publication number: 20170046426
Abstract: A computer extracts from contact records that each include a contact identifier, a group identifier for each group with which the contact has had an interaction, and interaction information that indicates a number of interactions and a timing of a most recent interaction. The contact data records are processed to generate a contact profile record for each contact including group metric values and a corresponding value for each group metric value based on an interaction history of groups the contact has interacted with. A set of contact profile records is stored in interaction analytics databases. The computer generates group profile records for groups that include metric values associated with the group and an interaction history. They are compared with at least thousands of the contact profile records to calculate group-contact compatibility factors. A compatibility parameter is generated and communicated for each of at least thousands of contacts based on the group-contact compatibility parameters.

  • Patent number: 7514682
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to facilitate the measurement of the amount of scattered electrons collected by an anti-fogging baffle arrangement are provided. For some embodiments, by affixing a lead to an electrically isolated (floating) portion of the baffle arrangement, the amount of scattered electrons collected thereby may be read out, for example, as a current signal. Thus, for such embodiments, the baffle arrangement may double as a detector, allowing an image of surface (e.g., a mask or substrate surface) to be generated.

  • Patent number: 7315029
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention may be utilized to improve electron beam deflection. One embodiment provides an electrostatic deflection system with electrodes that minimize aberrations and to achieve vertical incidence simultaneously. By using at least two stages of deflection for a deflection direction, the present invention allows the deflected electron beam to pass a back focal plane of an objective lens while deflection capacitors are not disposed across the back focal plane. As a result, deflection electrodes can have an angle of 120° to minimize aberrations and simultaneously achieve vertical incidence of the electron beam on a target to avoid distortions or changes in magnification with height variations of the target or focus variations.

  • Patent number: 7069795
Abstract: Various sensors use an electro-active device (11) electrically connected to a detector circuit. The electro-active device (11) comprises an electro-active structure in the form of a continuous electro-active member (12) curving in a helix around a minor axis (13) which is in itself curved for example in a helix around a major axis (14). On activation by relative displacement of the ends (16) of the device (11), the electro-active structure twists around the minor axis due to the fact that the minor axis (13) is curved. The continuous member (12) has a bender construction of a plurality of layers (21) and (22) including at least one layer of electro-active material so that concomitantly with the twisting the continuous member (12) bends generating an electrical signal detected by the detector circuit. The electro-active device (11) is advantageous as a sensing element in a sensor because it has a large displacement, high sensitivity and low compliance.

  • Patent number: 7068930
Abstract: A camera (30) uses an electro-active device (11) to position a movable lens. The electro-active device (11) comprises an electro-active structure in the form of a continuous electro-active member (12) curving in a helix around a minor axis (13) which is in itself curved for example in a helix around a major axis (14). The continuous member (12) has a bender construction of a plurality of layers (21 and 22) including at least one layer of electro-active material so that it bends, on activation, around the minor axis (13). Concomitantly with the bending, the electro-active structure twists around the minor axis. Concomitantly with that twisting, relative displacement of the ends (16) of the device (11) occurs due to the combination of the twisting around the minor axis (13) and the fact that the minor axis (13) is curved. This structure of the electro-active device (11) is compact and provides for linear displacement, thereby making it suitable for positioning the lens of the camera (30).

  • Patent number: 6833656
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electro-active device having an electro-active structure extending along a minor axis (36) which is curved, for example in a helix around a major axis (37). The electro-active structure comprises successive electro-active portions (35) extending around said minor axis and arranged with electrodes to bend, when activated, around the minor axis (36) such that bending of the successive portions (35) is concomitant with rotation of the electro-active structure about the minor axis (36) adding incrementally along the minor axis (36). The electro-active structure generates displacement out of the local plane in which the minor axis is curved. The electra-active structure may be continuous electro-active member (35) extending along and curving around the minor axis (35), for example helically to form a helical helix. Alternatively, the electro-active structure may be a plurality of discrete elements (211) connected together.
