  • Publication number: 20230208465
Abstract: A communication system (1) comprising a first and a second underwater wearable device to be worn by a swimmer at mutually distant locations is disclosed herein. The communication system is configured to derive information pertaining to the swimmer from properties of a version of the acoustic signal transmitted from a first communication module of the first underwater wearable device to a second communication module of the second underwater wearable device.

  • Publication number: 20220095991
Abstract: Currently, assessing the severity and progression of symptoms in a patient diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease involves in-clinic monitoring and testing of the patient every 6 to 12 months. However, monitoring and testing a patient more frequently is preferred, but increasing the frequency of in-clinic monitoring and testing can be costly and inconvenient to the patient. Thus, assessing the severity and progression of symptoms via remote monitoring and testing of the patient outside of a clinic environment as described herein provides advantages in cost, ease of monitoring, ecological validity, reliability and convenience to the patient, like improvement of quality of life. Systems, methods and devices according to the present disclosure provide a diagnostic for assessing one or more pre-clinical signs and/or symptoms of Alzheimer's disease in a patient by passive monitoring of the patient and/or active testing of the patient.

  • Patent number: 7190795
Abstract: An electronic device with audio output, such as a television, is adjusted to the customized listening profile of a user with a user interface module 100 and a control module 110. A user sets the level of amplification for the center or test frequency of a number of audio frequency bands. The control module generates tones at the test frequencies and the user adjusts the amplification of each tone until the user is satisfied with hearing that tone. The other frequencies in the band are adjusted by the same amount as the test tone.

  • Patent number: 5778207
Abstract: A microprocessor having registers is provided with a subset of instructions and is capable of operating in association with an operating system. The subset of instructions can be issued by an application running on the microprocessor for saving at least a portion of at least one of the plurality of registers not saved by the operating system during interrupt processing. Such an arrangement enables applications to be written for advanced microprocessors which have word lengths and register widths which exceed the word and register sizes for which the operating system was designed.

  • Patent number: 4004131
Abstract: A machine readable binary encoded label having start, data, and stop sections comprising concentric arcuate or linear bars of two different reflectivities. The annular portions or bars are arranged into a coded array such that no more than four adjacent bars are of the same reflectivity type. The start and stop portions are arranged to provide to a scanner sufficient information to determine the scan rate of the scanner regardless of the rate of scan or dimension of bars merely by the scanning passage over the stop or start portion. Scanning circuits for transmitting data information from the data portion of the label to suitable data processing facilities includes a logic arrangement that automatically synchronizes the scanning circuit to the scanner device which may be a machine operating at a substantially constant scan rate or a hand-held wand operated within a wide range of scan rates. This is a division of application Ser. No. 345,322, filed Mar. 27, 1973.
