  • Patent number: 4288155
Abstract: Diazotype developing apparatus and method in which a gaseous developing medium, such as a mixture of ammonia and air of predetermined concentration, is contained within a containing system, which includes the developing chamber of the apparatus, and the volume of the containing system is variable with only negligible changes in the pressure within the containing system so as to allow the volume of gaseous developing medium to be maintained within the containing system at essentially the same pressure as the pressure of the surrounding ambient atmosphere during variations in the volume of gaseous developing medium within the containing system resulting from operation of the apparatus.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 29, 1979
Date of Patent: September 8, 1981
    Assignee: Diazit Company, Inc.
    Inventor: Henry W. Patrick
  • Patent number: 4142790
Abstract: Apparatus for developing exposed diazotype sheet material in which an accurately metered amount of liquid developer is applied to the sheet material by an applicator roller. The roller surface is essentially smooth and liquid developer is applied to the roller surface in an amount metered by a metering blade assembly which includes a flexible support member carrying a resilient backing layer which, in turn, carries a fine mesh screen held in contact with the smooth surface of the roller. The screen includes intersecting filaments and opposed, flattened lands on opposite surfaces of the screen and located at intersections of the filaments, the screen having a predetermined thickness between opposed flattened lands.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 6, 1979
    Assignee: Diazit Company, Inc.
Inventors: Robert P. Neeb, Henry W. Patrick, Ray H. Mumford
  • Patent number: 3940782
Abstract: Apparatus for developing exposed diazotype sheet material in which an accurately metered amount of liquid developer is applied to the sheet material by an applicator roller. The roller surface is essentially smooth and liquid developer is applied to the roller surface in an amount metered by a metering blade assembly which includes a flexible support member carrying a resilient backing layer which, in turn, carries a fine mesh screen held in contact with the smooth surface of the roller. A sheet of smooth, essentially continuous material is interposed between the screen and the roller surface when the apparatus is not in use and is retracted to enable direct contact between the screen and the roller surface when the apparatus is in use.
