  • Patent number: 6488264
Abstract: Governor valve device for a pressure fluid operated tool having a ball valve (23, 24), the valve ball (24) of which is provided in a cavity (25), open towards the seal ring (23) of the valve, in a movable piston (26). A spring-loaded member (30) urges the valve ball against the seal ring. By movement of the piston, the ball can be moved out of and into, respectively, a sealing position against the seal ring in order to permit and to prevent, respectively, the passage of pressure fluid to a drive chamber (17) in the tool.

  • Patent number: 5971083
Abstract: Pressure fluid operated impact mechanism having a reciprocating working member (5), a stop member (17) and, formed between said members, a drive chamber (18) with seals (15, 16) and a regulating valve (21) co-operating with a supply opening (25) for pressure fluid, in which opening a sleeve (24) can be arranged for the journalling of the valve. The valve blocks the opening when the working member (5) and the stop member (17) have moved a distance away from each other and is open when they are close to each other. Through the valve and the working member, a discharge channel (33, 31, 20, 32) for pressure fluid is provided which is closed when its inlet opening (33) is inside the stop member and is freed when the working and stop members have moved a distance away from each other.

  • Patent number: 5899512
Abstract: Lifting hook having a safety latch (10) arranged in a cavity (11) in the hook, which latch can be swung outwards and which is locked in closed position thereby that, by a spring (22), it is displaced to support, with end surfaces of slots (12), against a safety latch shaft (9). A corner portion (28) and a protruding member (23) thereby prevent a swinging outwards of the safety latch by supporting against an inner wall (18) in the cavity and a recess (25), respectively, in an upper wall (19). To open the hook, the safety latch is pulled downwards against the spring force, so that the corner portion (28) runs free from the inner wall and the safety latch can be swung outwards. The safety latch can be arranged to be lowered automatically when the hook is loaded on the commencement of a lifting operation, a suspension shaft (7) thereby, by being displaced in a slot (8) acting on the protruding member (23) so that the safety latch is released and is lowered by the spring force and locked.

  • Patent number: 5167477
Abstract: A chamfering device incorporating a power tool for driving a rotary bur or the like provided with an elongated shaft and a cutting head, wherein the shaft is enclosed at a small clearance by a first, mainly tubular member, which, after mounting of the shaft with the said first member fitted thereto in the power tool, is held in position by a second, mainly tubular member, which is fixed to the power tool and is connected to the first member thereby arresting this in position, a third, mainly tubular member being provided over the second member, said third member being displaceable in the axial direction of the second member and lockable in occupied positions, said third member being an adjustable extension of the second member.

  • Patent number: 4609054
Abstract: An impact element having the effect of elongating the pulse of force in impact tools and devices for chipping, hammering and similar operations, consisting of an element (8) which, for generating the striking motion, is axially moveable as a whole and comprises a driving mass (16) intended to be actuated by a propelling force, and a striking mass (17) located in front thereof relative to the direction of striking, which masses possess a limited freedom of axial movement with respect to each other in that they are coupled together by a stiff spring arrangement, e.g. cup washers (15), extremely hard plastics or gas cushions.

  • Patent number: 4117764
Abstract: A vibration attenuating device to be used in conjunction with reciprocating-motion type impact mechanisms having working and stop members that are axially movable relative towards or away from one another. The members define a pressure chamber therebetween, which is in communication with a source of pressure medium and is sealed by a flexible sealing material such as an O ring. Each member is acted upon by a compression spring exerting a force on the individual member in a direction towards the other member. The introduction of the pressure medium into the pressure chamber results in a cycle comprising the (1) members being forced away from each other, (2) the pressure medium escaping from the pressure chamber and (3) the members being returned to their original positions by the action of the springs. The invention provides a completely balanced two mass system which is particularly useful in conjunction with impact mechanisms used for hand tools.

  • Patent number: 4088062
Abstract: A fluid pressure operated impact mechanism of the type having a reciprocating working member guided for movement along an axis toward and away from a stop member, a pressure chamber between the working and stop members to receive a fluid pressure medium to exert forces separating the two members, and pressure sealing means for maintaining the pressure chamber sealed as the working member and stop member separate. The mechanism is characterized by a sealing arrangement which requires few precision parts yet is applicable to a variety of different devices. In the sealing arrangement, the pressure chamber is formed in the surface of at least one of the members, so that the two members meet along a separating line at the periphery of the pressure chamber. One of the members forms a support wall or flange extending in an axial direction along the separating line, and a flexible sealing means extends from the support wall of the one member to the other member, thereby effecting a seal therebetween.
