  • Patent number: 5721531
Abstract: This invention relates to a monitoring arrangement for a hanging file folder for identifying information contained in an electronic file folder locator system. A hanging file folder, as known in the art, includes a pair of laterally extending support bars along a pair of upper edges of the file folder wherein each upper edge is formed with a channel for holding a respective support bar, and the file folder is formed with a plurality of apertures into one of the upper edge channels at a plurality of spaced locations along that channel. The monitoring arrangement comprises a pair of parallel, substantially horizontal, support rails spaced apart within a file cabinet to suspend the file folder therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5586111
Abstract: A communications network wherein the individual communication lines extend to peripheral user devices from a central hub. A test switch is interposed in the communication lines in the vicinity of the hub. The test switch functions to selectively disconnect one of the communication lines from the hub and instead connect that line to a tester. A remote active termination device connected in the line provides the proper line termination for the test being performed.

  • Patent number: 5364506
Abstract: Disclosed is an electrochemical reactor for partially oxidizing methane and cogenerating electrical energy. A solid-state ionic reactor is described in which a solid electrolyte is provided with a cathode and a perovskite type anode having a wide range of oxygen nonstoichiometry. The cell generates electrical energy as a result of the chemical potential difference brought about by the catalytic oxidation of methane at the anode with oxygen that chemically diffuses from the cathode through the solid-state ionic conductor.

  • Patent number: 4812300
Abstract: The present invention relates to perovskite mixed metal catalysts useful for the selective oxidation of ammonia to nitric oxide. In one aspect, the invention relates to a perovskite mixed metal catalyst of the general formula: ABO.sub.3 wherein:A is selected from alkali, alkaline earth, rare earth, lanthanide activide metals or mixtures thereof; andB is selected from an element or a combination of elements selected from Groups IB, IVB, VB, VIB, VIIB or VIII of the Periodic Table. Preferably, the perovskite phase for each catalyst has an equilibrium oxygen partial pressure at 1000.degree. C. of at least (about) 10.sup.-15 bar. A preferred embodiment is a catalyst wherein A is selected from lanthanum, strontium or mixtures thereof, and B is selected from cobalt, nickel, copper manganese or mixtures thereof. A method of preparing the selective perovskite catalyst is disclosed as are details of the process for the oxidation of ammonia to nitric oxide.

  • Patent number: 4740491
Abstract: Catalysts having as their active component sulfides of vanadium, molybdenum and tungsten are contacted with ammonia or with an amine which in aqueous solution has a basic ionization constant greater than that of ammonium hydroxide to suppress deactivation of the catalysts by exposure to the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4132672
Abstract: An improved method for the conversion of hydrogen and carbon monoxide to a methane-rich gas in which there is employed a supported nickel catalyst promoted by the addition of a small percentage of the iridium metal, typically 0.1 to 1.0% by weight. Said promoted catalyst is highly active for methanation and has good resistance against poisoning by sulfur compounds.
