  • Patent number: 5719374
Abstract: A method for bending metal objects along a straight bending line comprises a local heating of a selected strip of a metal object with an impinging broad energy beam. Thereupon, the selected strip is cooled by means of a cooling stream of a liquid. The cooling stream moves at a short distance behind the energy stream. Thereby, there results a bending of the metal object, where a convexity is produced on the side of the metal object impinged by the broad energy beam.

  • Patent number: 5228324
Abstract: This present invention solves the problem of bending objects, particularly flat parallel ones, without employing an external force. The method according to this present invention involves subjecting the material of the object bent to a repetitive, two-phase heating and cooling process.During the first phase, the material undergoes heating with a concentrated stream of energy causing a thermal effect along the predetermined bending line and a partial plasticizing, melting and flowing out in the region of the bending line.On the other hand, the material is subjected in the second phase to being cooled at ambient terperature or, additionally, in a stream of a blown air, thereby causing the previously heated material to shrink along fibers in the direction perpendicular to the bending line due to the internal stresses created by the thermal shrinkage of the material in the heated region, and thus the deformation of the material to be permanently changed. The method is suitable for bending metal objects.

  • Patent number: 5080333
Abstract: This invention relates to a spring two states of stable equilibrium. This spring is to be used for accumulation of elastic strain energy and for setting the mutual position of movable co-acting parts. The spring consists of at least one pair of elastic strips and two shaped elements determined by the angles, the elastic strips of each pair being connected to one another, preferably at their ends, with arms of the shaped elements in such a way that between the neighboring sides of the strips there is a slot of length and a variable width. Strips are situated in relation to one another in such a way that they are inclined at an angle as determined by the inclination angle of shaped elements. The invention is applicable for clamping various parts, for instance, for closing kinematic chains, for accumulation of elastic strain energy in bumpers, as well as for ensuring the state of equilibrium of component parts of various mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 4984550
Abstract: The invention solves the problem of feeding spark ignition engines with fuel and obtaining high total efficiency of engines. The method is characterized by that for supply control the signals of pressures of the medium in determined sections of the suction pipe passage are used. The fuel medium is subject to ultrasonic vibration with the frequency of from 20 kHz up to 60 kHz. The atomized medium is treated with an air stream. The device is equipped with an ultrasonic unit /1/ provided with an ultrasonic transducer /21/ to atomize the medium, connected with the control system of the fuel medium supply before feeding the medium to cylinders. The ultrasonic unit /1/ is provided with at least one intermediate channel /16/ to feed the fuel medium, connected with at least two output channels /18/ leading to the radiant surface b /20/ of the waveguide /19/ The device provides for high production yield of the mixture.
