  • Patent number: 11036160
Abstract: An optical scanning device of an electrophotographic printer is provided. The optical scanning device includes an optical source portion to emit an optical beam inclined in a sub-scanning direction with respect to a reference plane, an optical deflector to deflect and scan the optical beam in a main scanning direction, and an imaging lens to image the deflected optical beam onto a light-exposed object and having an optical axis which is parallel to the reference plane. In order to correct a scanning line curvature, a location of a vertex of a curved surface of the imaging lens in the sub-scanning direction is varied based on a location in the main scanning direction.

  • Patent number: 9429748
Abstract: A light scanning unit includes a light source to emit a light beam; a polygonal mirror to deflect the light beam in a main scanning direction; and an imaging optical system to image the light beam onto a scanning surface. The polygonal mirror includes a plurality of reflection surfaces that are formed in an outer portion of the polygonal mirror and rotate around a rotational axis and an internal mirror surface that defines a hole. A ratio of an internal diameter d to an outer diameter D satisfies 0.1?d/D?0.3. The polygonal mirror is adhered to a motor unit that supports and rotates the polygonal mirror, using an adhesive. The internal mirror surface of the polygonal mirror defining the hole is point-bonded to the motor unit using the adhesive, and the point-bonding is conducted in a direction toward a corner of the reflection surfaces.

  • Patent number: 8305673
Abstract: Disclosed is a light scanning unit that includes an imaging optical system disposed between a beam deflector and a surface to be scanned. The imaging optical system includes two adjacent imaging optical devices that are inclined with respect to the light path. The inclination directions of the two adjacent imaging optical devices may be determined according to the number of reflection units that are disposed on the light path between the two adjacent imaging optical devices. The disclosed light scanning unit of the above configuration may advantageously exhibit reduced ghost images, reduced bowing of the scan line, improved beam diameter uniformity, and/or improved color registration.

  • Patent number: 8248444
Abstract: Disclosed is a light scanner with improved assembling datums of optical components. In the light scanner, an assembling datum with respect to a support body of an optical component is positioned between two ends of the optical component, for example, adjacent the central portion of the optical component. Accordingly, even when the lens is displaced, the change in an optical path may be reduced to mitigate the degradation in the image quality.
