Abstract: Method, system, and computer program product are provided for medical monitoring rule recommendation for a medical records system. The method includes: indexing previously generated medical monitoring rules to provide a rules index; and determining rule features by evaluating previously generated medical monitoring rules based on existing patient data. The method further includes: receiving a given patient's data; querying the given patient's data in the rules index to provide candidate rules; and scoring the candidate rules based on the rule features including the frequency a rule was satisfied for existing patients. Scoring the candidate rules may also includes scoring based on the given patient's data by executing a candidate rule on the given patient's data.
