Publication number: 20230224161Abstract: Various embodiments are disclosed for self-authorized identification and services, and applications therefor. A computing device may generate a public-private key pair and a self-authorizing identifier (SAID), a byte string that is globally unique and immutable to the computing device. A remote service implementing a blockchain protocol may store a public key of the public-private key pair in a distributed blockchain ledger, which is used to authenticate the computing device in various network-based communications, and encrypt or decrypt such communications. An enclave service may be employed to asynchronously send messages between computing devices. The computing device may have an isolated environment that permits collaboration applications to execute therein, as well as an actallet that permits distribution applications not executing in the isolated environment to access the SAID or data pertaining thereto.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2021Publication date: July 13, 2023Inventors: Heping SHANG, James QIU

Patent number: 11650889Abstract: A method for reliable data synchronization within a network is disclosed. The producer system stories data in a persistent data store and produces one or more data updates. The producer system simultaneously transmits the data updates to a consumer system and initiating storage of the data updates at the producer system. When storage of the data updates at the producer system is complete, the producer system transmits a first acknowledgment to the consumer system. The producer system determines whether a second acknowledgment has been received from the consumer system, wherein the second acknowledgment indicates that the consumer system has successfully stored the data updates at the consumer system. In accordance with a determination that the second acknowledgment has been received from the consumer system, the producer system changes the temporary status of the data updates stored at the producer system to a permanent status.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2019Date of Patent: May 16, 2023Assignee: SYBASE, INC.Inventors: Heping Shang, Ming-Chen Lo, Elena Lora-Gallardo, Xia-ge Dai

Patent number: 9075858Abstract: Systems and methods for non-disruptive cache startup, shutdown, data partition movement, and node rebalancing for a data fabric within a data grid in a database environment. The data grid is a clustered in-memory database (IMDB) cache comprising one or more data fabrics including multiple IMDB cache nodes. The method takes a time tag and moves data from source to destination nodes while allowing updates to data on the source nodes. The method propagates updates occurring after the time tag to destination nodes from source nodes and switches applications and ownership to the destination nodes. Another method slices data for a partitioned fabric and stores slices on nodes. Another method starts a data fabric by moving data from a grid backend to the nodes. In an embodiment, another method rebalances nodes in a non-disruptive manner. When a fabric is shutdown, the method saves data from the nodes to the grid backend.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2010Date of Patent: July 7, 2015Assignee: SYBASE, INC.Inventors: Mihnea Andre, Xun Cheng, Yanhong Wang, Elton Philip Wildermuth, Heping Shang, Stephen C. Patent number: 9047354Abstract: Systems, methods and computer program products for statement categorization and normalization are described herein. An embodiment includes a statement categorizer and a statement normalizer. The statement categorizer categorizes statements to reduce or even eliminate inconsistencies that may arise between primary and replicate databases as a result of executing certain statements. Categorized statements are normalized by the statement normalizer to generate normalized statements, which are provided to a replication server. Normalized statements assist replication server to regenerate a statement to be executed on a replicate database.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2008Date of Patent: June 2, 2015Assignee: Sybase, Inc.Inventors: Heping Shang, Andrzej Sarapuk, Elena Isabel Lora-Gallardo

Patent number: 8751441Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for replicating a table in a source database to a target database. In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, a subscription to the table is defined and a query is executed on the source database. The query is then normalized, and it is determined whether the query would cause semantically appropriate changes to the target database. If so, the normalized query is sent to the target database for execution, in accordance with an additional embodiment of the present invention.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2008Date of Patent: June 10, 2014Assignee: Sybase, Inc.Inventors: Heping Shang, Elena Lora-Gallardo, Andrzej Sarapuk

Patent number: 8676749Abstract: System, method, computer program product embodiments and combinations and sub-combinations thereof for logging of data manipulation language (DML) statements are described herein. An embodiment includes a database engine, a replication agent and a replication server which replicates data from the database engine to one or more replicate databases. The database engine writes parsed query information into a transaction log so that a process of replication agent may read the parsed query information and forward it to the replication server. The database engine writes all log records associated with a statement in a manner that allows the replication server to distinguish if those log records belong to same statement. In another embodiment, replication agent selectively sends SQL statement information to the replication server based on the replication server architecture.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2008Date of Patent: March 18, 2014Assignee: Sybase, Inc.Inventors: Heping Shang, Elena Isabel Lora-Gallardo, Andrzej Sarapuk
