    Abstract: A vehicle interior storage compartment includes a recess formed in a vehicle headliner. The recess has a peripheral edge, and a surface of the headliner within the recess defines at least one wall of a storage compartment. A storage compartment cover is attached about a portion of the peripheral edge of the recess. An edge of the storage compartment cover and a portion of the peripheral edge of the recess are spaced apart and define a storage compartment opening therebetween.

  • Vehicle trim component storage compartment and method of making same

    Abstract: A vehicle trim component includes a substrate defining at least one wall of a storage compartment. The substrate has an edge surface which defines an opening into the storage compartment. A semi-rigid member extends outward of the edge surface and at least partially covers the opening to define a storage compartment closure. The semi-rigid member is manually deflectable between a closed position and an open position.
