Abstract: A sponge mop retainer is attached to the end of a handle with a sponge member removably secured within the retainer. The retainer keeps the sponge member from rolling out when the mop is in use by tending to adhere to a surface while it allows the sponge member to be removed when the sponge member is worn out or dirty. The sponge member has four opposed longitudinal slits, one on each of four opposed surfaces. The retainer has a top wall and two side walls with the bottom edges of the two side walls having flanges which project inwardly, substantially toward one another. The free edges of each of the flanges have enlargements, substantially along their length, of a greater thickness than the thickness of the flanges which are engaged in two of the opposed slits to oppose movement of the sponge member away from the retainer.

Abstract: Squeegee construction for showerbath surfaces which is water impervious. The squeegee construction comprises a hollow, relatively rigid, plastic T-shaped handle mounting an extruded integral squeegee that is formed of two different durometers of plastic material. A rigid backbone portion engages in between rigid non-spreadable jaws defined by an elongate groove formed in the crossbar portion of the handle requiring an endwise entry and an elastomeric squeegee blade protrudes from the crossbar to provide the squeegee function. The squeegee is secured by means of protrusions extending from the rigid backbone into openings formed in the crossbar portion of the handle.

Abstract: A reversible sponge or foam rubber mop, brush or duster which includes a resiliently compressible block or sheet of a synthetic or sponge rubber generally square in configuration with its thickness substantially less than the length of its sides. The compressible block is arranged in a retainer of preferably resilient material which provides a holder for the resilient rubber block, the block being held in a folded condition. The block is frictionally engaged within the retainer by means of a T-shaped member having an elongate handle in the form of a mopstick passing through an opening in the block and an aligned opening in the retainer, the retainer having a flared entrance and an expanded interior so that the elongate handle of the T-shaped member may be inserted into the block, threaded through the opening in the retainer and the block pulled into the retainer by means of the handle pulling on the crossbar of the T, being held frictionally within the retainer during use.
