  • Patent number: 6137403
Abstract: A fume hood sash sensor uses multiplexed sensors to measure sash position. The sensor transmitter or receiver elements may be multiplexed. Furthermore, the sensor may employ passive, passive remote powered transponder, or powered transponder elements on the sashes to measure sash position.

Date of Patent: October 24, 2000
    Assignee: Phoenix Controls Corporation
Inventors: Eric M. Desrochers, Steven J. Gaul, Herbert A. Winters
  • Patent number: 4979405
Abstract: A rack and pinion gear system in a gear casing for vehicle steering has a spring biased rack against the pinion at one side of the pinion to maintain pinion engagement with the rack. On the other side of the pinion is a generally semicircular bracing bushing encompasssing the pinion and slightly spaced therefrom to brace the pinion in event of bending due to operational stresses. The bracing bushing is carried for support against the gear casing and secured in any suitable manner or may be cast as part of it.

  • Patent number: 4889094
Abstract: A method for recognition of the power stroke of an internal combustion engine is proposed, in which recognition as to whether a cylinder is currently in the power stroke is possible by means of camparison of a signal that is synchronous with the crankshaft angle and a signal that is modulated by the combustion events of the engine.

  • Patent number: 4762105
Abstract: A first control unit of a multiple function control system for a motor vehicle engine controls a function, such as fuel injection, for which it is desirable to provide an engine load signal measured by the amount of air drawn or forced into the engine per unit of time, determined by what is generally known as an air quantity meter. A second control unit of the control system controls the timing of an electrical ignition system for which it has been conventional to supply an engine load signal derived from a pressure transducer.
