  • Patent number: 9933340
Abstract: A method for controlled movement of magnetic carriers in a sample volume for performing immunoassays under weightless or reduced-weight conditions, wherein the magnetic carriers are moved inside the sample volume by means of permanent magnets movably arranged relative to at least one spatial axis of the sample volume.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 15, 2013
Date of Patent: April 3, 2018
    Assignee: Airbus DS GmbH
    Inventors: Peter Kern, Herbert Backes
  • Patent number: 9921214
Abstract: The invention is based on a method for performing a biochemical analysis, especially in outer space, wherein at least one analyte in a sample is determined qualitatively and/or quantitatively by means of selective binding of an analyte-specific pair composed of a binding substance and a detection substance to the analyte and by labeling by a labeling substance, and wherein the sample, the binding substance, the detection substance and the labeling substance are mixed in a reaction vessel in one method step. It is proposed that the mixing be brought about by means of mixing bodies.

  • Patent number: 7560073
Abstract: The comprises at least one sample receiving chamber for a sample liquid, and a distributor channel for sample liquid connected to said at least one sample receiving chamber, with at least one such distributor channel extending from each sample receiving chamber. The sample support further comprises at least one reaction chamber entered by an inflow channel branched off said at least one distributor channel, and a venting opening for each reaction chamber. Each distributor channel and each inflow channel are dimensioned to have the liquid transport through the distributor and inflow channels effected by capillary forces. In each reaction chamber, the entrance region of the inflow channel is provided with a means for generating a capillary force causing the sample liquid to flow from the inflow channel into the reaction chamber.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5309697
Abstract: A packaging machine for individual flat strip-like articles, in particular chewing gum strips (10), comprises means for cutting (110) and supplying (100), wrapping (300) and grouping (400; 500) of the individual articles. The packaging machine comprises a first fast section through which the articles pass continuously, i.e. substantially without retardations or accelerations. In this machine section the chewing gums are first cut from sheets (20) to strips (10) in a cutting device (110) and thereafter individually wrapped, a turning drum (340) possibly being employed. Subsequently, they are combined to groups in a grouping means (400; 500). In this second machine section the chewing gum groups are further conveyed intermittently in cycles with lower speed to a collective packing machine. By exchanging components in the grouping means of the fast machine section the articles can be combined to groups different in number and arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4135025
Abstract: A fabric web intended for the production of garment inserts for reinforcing shoulder, chest or lap parts of garments the web having a reinforced region comprising a double-cloth formed by two fabrics, each having a warp thread and a weft thread system, and a reinforcing thread warp or weft system between the two fabrics, the reinforcing threads having a stronger spring force than the warp and weft threads of the two fabrics. Threads of a fabric are interlaced with threads of the other fabric and/or reinforcing threads are interlaced with fabric threads. The physical characteristics of at least one system, e.g. spring force of the reinforcing threads or thread spacing or density, vary in a direction transverse to the length of the threads of such system to provide a spring force and resilience which varies across and/or along the web from the reinforced region toward another portion of the web.
