  • Patent number: 5064156
Abstract: A workpiece support apparatus is provided with a pair of pivotable leg assemblies which are movable between a first, open position, and a second, closed position. A releasable latch member is provided for holding the leg assemblies in a selected one of the open and closed positions. The apparatus includes a vertically adjustable work support assembly which can be locked at a desired height.

  • Patent number: 4967916
Abstract: A corner support post for shelving is provided in the form of an elongate member of sheet metal. The member has two side portions that are oriented generally perpendicular to each other, that each extend at about a 45 degree angle from a central wall, and that each define laterally offset, parallel walls. Each side portion has a vertical margin defining a generally cylindrical configuration. Identical posts are adapted to be aligned in end-to-end abutting registration relationship and fastened together with connecting plates.

  • Patent number: 4921370
Abstract: A connector assembly is provided for connecting a first tube section to a second tube section that has a hollow tubular wall. The assembly includes a base member for being mounted to the first tube section, a collet member for being received in an open end of the second tube section and matingly engaged around the base member, a screw having a head for engaging the first tube section and having an extending threaded shank, and a threaded receiving nut for threadingly engaging the screw shank and urging the collet member axially into increasing mating engagement with the base member when the screw is rotated. The base member and the collet member together define cooperating wedge means for urging at least a portion of the collet member increasingly radially outwardly as the base member and the collet member are increasingly axially engaged so as to force the collet member into tight engagement with the second tube section.

  • Patent number: 4896778
Abstract: An improved structure is provided for connecting an end of an elongate member to an end plate. The end plate is provided with an aperture for receiving a fastener having a threaded shank adapted for extending through the aperture and having a head for engaging the end plate. The structure includes at least a first slot in the elongate member. A retaining member is provided for being positioned in the elongate member slot. The retaining member has two oppositely extending end portions for each projecting laterally beyond the elongate member and engaging the elongate member. The retaining member defines a threaded bore for threadingly receiving the threaded shank of the fastener.

  • Patent number: 4711183
Abstract: A shelving assembly is provided with at least one shelf and a shelf support member engaging the shelf along a margin thereof. The shelf support member includes a generally planar vertical wall that is perpendicular to the plane of the shelf. The shelf support member includes a tab having an outwardly projecting portion and a downwardly extending portion parallel to the shelf support member vertical wall. Vertical posts are provided and include at least one vertical wall that is oriented generally parallel to the shelf support member vertical wall. Each post includes a receiving means on the post vertical wall for receiving the downwardly extending portion of one of the tabs with at least the distal end of the downwardly extending portion of the one tab being disposed adjacent the post vertical wall.

  • Patent number: 4625604
Abstract: A guide member projects upwardly from the splitter, and an extension bracket is pivotally connected to the splitter and defines a guide slot for receiving the guide member. The splitter includes a leg having a projecting foot defining a notch between the foot and a bottom portion of the splitter whereby the leg may be disposed within a slot in a mounting plate so that the notch receives a portion of the mounting plate. The mounting plate includes a tab angled downwardly at one side of the slot for engaging a side of the foot.
