Patent number: 6778865Abstract: A Method and apparatus for monitoring and controlling appliances and systems having a two-dimensional or multidimensional operating envelope. A map of the operating envelope or of a part of it onto a unit domain or the operating envelope of another appliance is used for monitoring and control. The apparatus produces this map. The method and the apparatus allow monitoring and control which can be carried out substantially in the same way for appliances whose operating envelopes have different shapes.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2001Date of Patent: August 17, 2004Assignee: WINGAS GmbHInventors: Leonid Ostromuhov, Jan Huijnk, Herbert Bauer

Patent number: 5091444Abstract: A moisture-curing hot-melt composition comprising at least one isocyanate-terminated polyurethane prepolymer has improved sag-resistance while retaining high extrudability and is characterised in that the composition includes 1-17 wt %, preferably 3-6 wt %, of hydrophobic, siloxane-coated, fumed silica.Especially effective polyurethane hot-melt adhesive compositions are prepared containing 4-5 wt % of the hydrophobic, siloxane-coated fumed silica.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 1990Date of Patent: February 25, 1992Assignee: Bostik, Inc.Inventors: Herbert Bauer, Heinz G. Gilch, Walter Rath, Use Schumann

Patent number: 4586636Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing a moisture curable composition in a container having a body portion, a closure member for closing one end of the body portion having an outwardly projecting neck defining an outlet opening, and a closure piston at the other end of the body portion comprising a support for the closure member including an exit port for receiving the neck of the container and a moisture proof seal between the neck and the exit port. The support also includes a heater to melt the moisture curable composition which was forced from the container by pushing downwardly on the closure piston. A clamp clamps the body portion of the supported container in place on the support.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1985Date of Patent: May 6, 1986Assignee: USM CorporationInventors: Herbert Bauer, Hans Waibel, Joachim Speisebecher

Patent number: 4464281Abstract: A method for stabilizing automatic dishwasher detergents containing bleach-sensitive dyes against decolorization by the bleaching agents of the compositions. The detergent powders comprise about 5-70% of a builder, 1-15% of a nonionic surfactant, 1-20% of a silicate, 0-60% of a filler, 0.001-0.1% of a bleach-sensitive dye, water and a bleaching agent. Prior to the addition of bleaching agent, the composition is pre-conditioned by contact with a flow of air. The resultant powder has a color that remains essentially unchanged even after storage for two months at elevated temperatures.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1983Date of Patent: August 7, 1984Assignee: Lever Brothers CompanyInventors: Anthony Rapisarda, Edilia Camps, Herbert Bauer
-
Patent number: 4425179Abstract: Novel, improved adhesive compositions which are curable at ambient temperature to form adhesive bonds between substrates without external application of heat, light or other radiation. The adhesive compositions comprise one or more ethylenically unsaturated compounds such as polymerizable acrylic or methacrylic acid esters, a source of free radicals, and an activator comprising a pyrazoline compound.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 1980Date of Patent: January 10, 1984Assignee: USM CorporationInventors: Herbert Bauer, Gerhard Piestert

Patent number: 4395301Abstract: Novel, improved adhesive compositions curable at ambient temperature to form adhesive bonds between opaque, impervious, substrates without external application of heat, light or other radiation. The adhesive compositions of this invention comprise one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers, a source of free radicals, and an activator comprising an azine dye material or the reaction product of an azine dye material with a reducing agent.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 1980Date of Patent: July 26, 1983Assignee: USM CorporationInventors: Herbert Bauer, Gerhard Piestert, Heinz G. Gilch

Patent number: 4378399Abstract: The invention provides improved bonding methods and bonded laminates using multi-part adhesive compositions having first and second parts. The first part of the adhesive composition comprises free radical polymerizable monomers and a source of free radicals; the second part comprises an activator for initiation of polymerization of the monomer. According to the invention, flexible, activator carrying elements are positioned between layers of the first part to provide effective bonding between substrate surfaces which may be spaced apart from each other by relatively large gaps.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 1981Date of Patent: March 29, 1983Assignee: USM CorporationInventors: Herbert Bauer, Gerhard Piestert

Patent number: 4351174Abstract: A method of forming a metal strip having a raised side uniformly plated with a layer of a different metal or metal alloy, preferably a precious metal, wherein the plating metal layer is applied to the flat strip and thereafter the strip is folded lengthwise to raise the plated side of the strip in order to obtain the desired profile. The method allows to apply the plating layer on a flat surface which can be easily done by known processes, the strip being bent together with the layer to form said raised uniformly plated side.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 1980Date of Patent: September 28, 1982Assignee: INOVAN - Stroebe G.m.b.H. and Co. KGInventors: Herbert Bauer, Guenter Weik

Patent number: 4078231Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring the production of spun yarn in an open end rotor spinning machine. The spun yarn is withdrawn from the open end rotor spinning machine at a constant rate of speed. As a result of changes in mass of the yarn created by flaws therein, the centrifugal force within the rotor varies causing the tension in the yarn to vary accordingly. As the yarn is withdrawn from the rotor, it passes around a spring loaded arm which is displaced according to the centrifugal force applied to the yarn. The spring loaded arm is operately connected to a balance bridge circuit which generates an output signal corresponding to the displacement thereof. The output signal from the balance circuit is then fed to an integrator which integrates the signal to produce a slowly varying integrated reference signal.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1976Date of Patent: March 7, 1978Assignee: Schubert & SalzerInventors: Peter Artzt, Herbert Bauer, Gerhard Egbers, Sohrab Tabibi
