  • Patent number: 5314205
Abstract: For the skeletal chassis of very-lengthily longitudinally extending motor-home roadway vehicles, the chassis' major and pre-eminent weight-bearing capability has traditionally been furnished by two or more lengthily longitudinally extending, parallel structural members. Departing from such prior art, the very-lengthily longitudinally extending skeletal chassis herein utilizes a single, longitudinally elongate central-axis tubular member as the major and pre-eminent weight-bearing structural member. Such reliance upon a single only central-axial structural member has numerous advantages for motor-home vehicles including, inter alia, providing a torsionally rigid underlying chassis therefor, capability for accommodating longitudinally consecutive and sidewardly-open storage compartments therealong, and for providing therealong a conduit for power and utility lines.

  • Patent number: 4887704
Abstract: For use with an overland motor vehicle including therewithin a traversal-recording odometer that is actuatably connectable to the vehicular transmission, there is disclosed an odometer disabling system for disabling the odometer during time periods when the motor vehicle is being towed and during which it is inappropriate to record overland traversal of the towed vehicle. There is a novel electrically-disengageable spring-actuated clutch intervening between the vehicular odometer and transmission and co-acting with and along the flexible-shaft connection between the odometer and transmission. The clutch has the capability of maintaining the traversal-recording integrity of the odometer only so long as electrical current is not being fed into the electrically powerable coil of the clutch.

  • Patent number: 4722637
Abstract: An automatic tilt adjusting bracket for connection between a pole handle and a concrete float blade. The bracket includes a base member, a cover member and mechanical linkage interconnecting the base and cover members. As the pole handle is pushed and pulled, a force is applied to the cover member pivoting the base member relative thereto for automatically lifting the leading edge of the float blade.

  • Patent number: 4642604
Abstract: An auxiliary lubrication pump apparatus for use with towed vehicles having an automatic transmission. The apparatus includes a lubrication pump, a selector valve, a pressure sensing unit, a pump relay and a control unit and a display unit. The control unit includes a timer for sounding an alarm to alert the driver to activate the apparatus when the engine switch of the towing vehicle has been initiated. If pressure in the lubrication cycle drops below an acceptable level, or if electrical power to the apparatus fails, an audible alarm and visual alarm will be provided to the operator of the towing vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4414903
Abstract: An improvement in furrow followers of a type adapted for connection to an automatic steering mechanism for causing a vehicle to selectively follow a furrow is disclosed. The improvement provides a first and a second probe unit which are adapted to lie in a field furrow. The first probe unit is pivotally connected to a horizontal displacement arm. The second probe unit is pivotally connected to the first probe unit and is disposed in spaced trail position behind the first probe unit. A spacing bend is also provided in the second probe unit.

  • Patent number: 4406232
Abstract: A clutch mechanism for use in an automatic steering system is disclosed. The clutch mechanism allows an operator to manually override the automatic steering mechanism by use of the conventional steering gear. It also prevents damage to the automatic steering mechanism, which might be produced by large displacements in a steering gear feedback mechanism. Both angular and linear displacement dissipation devices are described.

  • Patent number: 4256415
Abstract: A concrete vibrator machine wherein the vibrators thereof are mounted on individual supporting structures that are adjustable longitudinally of the main frame of the machine, and wherein the vibrators are raised and lowered on their individual supporting structures in such a manner that if the vibrators strike an obstruction during lowering thereof, lowering of the vibrators may stop without damaging stress being placed thereon.

  • Patent number: 4161143
Abstract: An automatic steering mechanism is provided for causing a large farm tractor or other prime mover to selectively follow a predetermined path such as a furrow previously formed in a field. It is contemplated that the prime mover is provided with a steering gear and a fluid power circuit for operating that steering gear. The automatic steering mechanism includes path sensing means such as a furrow follower mounted for deployment in a lowered position in the field furrow. A first linking assembly connects this furrow follower to a fluid power guidance valve functionally disposed in the fluid power circuit. Here, this first linking assembly interconnects the furrow follower and a valve spool. A second linking assembly interconnects the prime mover steering gear and a floating valve body. As these linking assemblies move the valve spool and valve body relative to one another, fluid flow is caused in the fluid power circuit to cause steering action.
