  • Patent number: 4323292
Abstract: A slip ring for use in a high voltage system, such as a computerized axial tomography system, capable of coupling power in a 100-200 KV range at speeds up to 200 rpm, including the combined use of insulating fluid, dielectric barriers, Faraday shielding and semi-conductive material to maintain the electrical integrity of the slip ring.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 6, 1982
    Assignee: Litton Systems, Inc.
Inventors: Norris E. Lewis, Herbert C. Walker
  • Patent number: 4139251
Abstract: In a module which is usable in a wide band DC to UHF range, a vernier connection is employed in a slip ring and brush assembly. A source is connected to a ring by four slip ring feeds and a load is coupled to the ring by three brush leads. The unequal number of feeds and brushes reduces the standing wave reflections on the ring enabling the module to perform satisfactorily at high frequencies.
