  • Patent number: 4396412
Abstract: Process for improving the plant growth with the aid of ion exchanger fertilizers, comprising adding to the growth medium weakly basic anion exchangers which are charged with anionic chelate complexes of micronutrient cations and macronutrient and micronutrient anions to the extent of at least 60% of their total capacity together with weakly acid cation exchangers charged with nutrient cations to the extent of at least 60% of their total capacity. Furthermore fertilizers comprising a mixture of weakly basic anion exchanger which are charged with anionic chelate complexes of micronutrient cations and other micronutrient and macronutrient anions to the extent of at least 60% of their total capacity and weakly acid cation exchangers which are charged with nutrient cations to the extent of at least 60% of their total capacity.

  • Patent number: 4115261
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for removing oleophilic odor- and tasteproducing substances from water by treating the water with an insoluble, macroporous adsorber resin comprising a matrix based on a crosslinked organic polymer containing aromatic nuclei, the polymer containing chloromethyl groups as substituents; some of the chlorine atoms in the chlormethyl groups can be reacted with ammonia or amines, furthermore the invention relates to the adsorber resins to be used in the claimed process.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4083712
Abstract: Nitrogenous fertilizer compositions comprising a cation exchanger in the form of a salt thereof with a basic carbonic acid derivative containing at least 2 nitrogen groupings, e.g., a salt formed by attaching to a cation exchange material, guanidine, diguanidine, guanylurea, biuretdicyanamide, urazone, melamine, guanine or ammeline, are outstandingly effective in providing gradually-acting, long-lasting fertilizing action.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4077918
Abstract: Anion-exchange resins made by aminoalkylating an alkylatable resin in solvent-swollen condition with bis-carboxyimidomethyl ethers in a reaction mixture containing essentially unhydrated SO.sub.3 that can be added in the form of a solution in H.sub.2 SO.sub.4 or other solvent or as a complex with the alkylating ether, or in undissolved condition. The acylaminoalkylated product thus formed is deacylated as by hydrolysis and can have the resulting amino group alkylated and even quaternized.
