  • Patent number: 6425208
Abstract: A guide track for the window of a vehicle door can be adjusted vertically to adjust the location of a window stop on the upper end of the track to ensure a water-tight fit of the window upper edge and a weather-strip carried by the vehicle roof structure. Adjustment of the stop involves vertical movement of the track, up or down, preferably by loosening and tightening a track clamping-structure located at the lower end of the track. Access to the track clamping structure can be had through a small access opening formed in a trim panel on the interior surface of the door. Track adjustment can be achieved without removing the trim panel from the door. In preferred practice of the invention, the track clamping structure includes a threaded rod disposed between the track and a window support panel to swing the lower end of the track for changing the movement path of the window.

  • Patent number: 6082803
Abstract: A tire is held with a threaded rod or bolt in a compartment such as a recessed well formed in the trunk of a vehicle. A wing nut threaded to the rod clamps the tire to the floor of the compartment. A planar cover of sheet of thin material fits partially over and covers the tire and the compartment. A cap threaded to the end of the bolt fits through an aperture formed in the cover. The periphery of the aperture formed in the cover is held between a pair of flanges formed on the cap to provide vertical support to the cover in both upward and downward directions.

  • Patent number: 5500985
Abstract: A hinge assembly for mounting to a vehicle body a rear deck movable closure panel, wherein as the panel is opened its forward edge is shifted rearward away from adjacent body structure. The hinge assembly includes a forward sector gear fixed to a panel-half hinge member and an aft sector gear pivoted to a body-half hinge member wherein the sector gears are disposed between a pair of angled link members. The body-half hinge member includes inboard and outboard opposed wall surfaces having upper and lower pairs of aligned horizontal guide slots. The aft sector gear and pair of links are supported between the wall surfaces with the aft sector gear meshed with the forward sector gear and a subjacent gear rack. The links tie a forward sector gear pivot pin to an intermediate pivot pin slidably received in the upper pair of guide slots and an aft pivot pin slidably received in the lower pair of guide slots.
