  • Publication number: 20070022732
Abstract: A method for assembling a gas turbine engine includes coupling at least one heat pipe to the gas turbine engine such that a first closed end of the at least one heat pipe is coupled in thermal communication with the lubrication fluid, and extending an opposite second closed end of the at least one heat pipe radially outward through the outer casing such that the heat pipe second end is positioned in thermal communication with ambient air or other heat sink media, and such that fluid flows from the first end to the second end of the at least one heat pipe, and in an opposite flow direction from the second end to the first end of the at least one heat pipe through the at least one heat pipe to facilitate reducing an operating temperature of the lubrication fluid.

  • Patent number: 5313922
Abstract: A method for limiting the "braking" force exerted by a gasoline internal combustion engine on the driving wheels of a motor vehicle attains a high degree of driving safety. The flow of fuel to the engine is controlled during overrun operation of the vehicle in order to reduce the braking force based upon at least one variable indicative of the operating conditions of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5255194
Abstract: System for preventing skidding when the dynamic limits of driving are surpassed, e.g., when the vehicle skids laterally during excessive curve speed, by subjecting forceful braking at least to the front wheels, even to the point of locking. Several systems for detecting skidding which would effect such braking are possible.

  • Patent number: 4962970
Abstract: An anti-lock braking system is specifically designed for a motor vehicle having four-wheel drive and a device for shifting between two-wheel and four-wheel drive incorporating a lockable central differential. Additional differentials at the front and rear axles may also be locked to avoid wheel spin. The anti-lock braking system produces a brake pressure reduction signal when the wheel speed falls below a reference value. In accordance with the invention the reference value is varied in dependence upon whether the vehicle is shifted into two-wheel or four-wheel drive, in dependence upon the engagement of the central differential lock, and/or in dependence upon the engagement of the other differential lock(s).
