  • Patent number: 4566501
Abstract: A coating attachment for a wire weaver for dabbing cut ends of chain link formed by the wire weaver with a protective coating, including mounting the coating attachment at a position adjacent cut ends of chain link after the forming of the chain link by the wire weaver, and with the coating attachment including a receptacle containing a supply of the protective coating, a dabber member for transferring the protective coating from the receptacle to cut ends of chain link, moving the dabber member between a first position within the receptacle for transferring coating material to the dabber member and a second position in contact with the cut ends for transferring coating material from the dabber member to the cut ends, and driving the dabber member in synchronism with the forming of the chain link by the wire weaver.

  • Patent number: 4513793
Abstract: A wire fabric and apparatus and method of making same including processing wire to produce a wire fabric of open construction and with the wire fabric formed with small openings relative to the gauge of the wire so as to form a security mesh, including coiling the wire to have small loops, cutting the coiled wire into individual lengths by cutting out a small portion of an individual loop of the coiled wire, repetitively interweaving the coiled wire before the coiled wire is cut with the coiled wire lastly cut to form the security mesh with the interweaving operation of one individual length of coiled wire at a time, and alternately shifting the coiled wire forward and backward for successive interweaving operations for providing the proper orientation for interweaving between the lengths of coiled wire before each interweaving operation.

  • Patent number: 4353512
Abstract: An apparatus for rolling chain link fence including an endless belt including a free loop portion and with the endless belt moved in a particular direction and with the movement of the endless belt producing rotative motion in the free loop portion, and with progressive portions of the chain link fence fed into the free loop portion and with at least the free loop portion of the endless belt supporting the progressive portions of the chain link fence to have the individual links of the chain link fence collapse against each other to provide for a tight configuration of the chain link fence within the free loop portion, and with the rotative motion of the free loop portion of the endless belt producing a rolling of the progressive portions of the chain link fence with the individual links collapsed against each other to form a roll of chain link fence with a tight configuration and a small diameter.
