  • Patent number: 6474253
Abstract: A tender towing system for motor yachts employing a retractable tow line coupled to a rotatable spool. The rotatable spool is controlled by an operator of the motor yacht by a centralized hydraulic or electrical system. A harness is placed between the tow line and the towed tender to absorb excess shocks. A skeg is located on the transom of the tender to provide proper tracking of the tenders that do not have integrated rudders. A docking port is positioned on the transom area of the motor yacht which in combination with the line retrieval system is used to secure the tender to the transom area of the motor yacht thereby allowing close quarter operation such as that required in marinas and the like docking situations.

  • Patent number: 6182592
Abstract: A docking system for vessels employing at retractable docking line coupled to a rotatable spool. The rotatable spool is controlled by an operator of the vessel by a centralized hydraulic or electrical system. The retrieval systems allows for free wheeling line deployment and variable speed line retraction. Solenoid valves and relays are used to allow an operator to retrieve lines at various speeds allowing the vessel to be moved fore or aft for proper docking alignment. A weighted end cap allows for passing of the docking lines and further provides for sealing of the docking system when placed in a storage position.

  • Patent number: 5746149
Abstract: A docking system employing at least two hydraulic line retrieval devices operated by a centralized hydraulic system. The retrieval systems allows for free wheeling line deployment and variable speed line retraction. Solenoid valves are used to allow and operator to draw one line faster than the another thereby allowing the vessel to be moved fore or aft to assure proper alignment. The lines employed are smaller than mooring lines allowing for compact housing structures. The housing structures retrieve the lines through an aperture wherein an end cap located on the end of the line seals the aperture. The end cap is weighted providing a line that can be thrown a long distance.
