  • Patent number: 8931751
Abstract: The invention relates to a molding tool for the production of components composed of fiber composite materials, in which the molding tool has a fiber composite structure and an electrical resistance heating element, whereby carbon fibers or carbon filaments are embedded into the fiber composite structure of the molding tool in a plastic matrix, close to the shaping surface of the molding tool. Such a molding tool is further developed in that the carbon fibers or carbon filaments in the plastic matrix, close to the shaping surface, essentially determine the mechanical strength of the molding tool, and that the electrical resistance heating element is interconnected in such a manner that at least individual sections of the electrical resistance heating element form an electrical parallel circuit with one another.

  • Patent number: 8371621
Abstract: A fitting connection for a capillary has a sealing bushing, a compression bushing, and a backing bushing. The backing bushing has a bore for receiving the sealing bushing and the compression bushing into the backing bushing, and the sealing bushing and the compression bushing are each provided with a central bore for feeding through a capillary tube. The bore of the backing bushing has a partly slightly conical bore end which compacts the sealing bushing such that the bore of the sealing bushing exerts a radial surface pressure onto the external wall of the capillary.

  • Publication number: 20100327577
Abstract: A fitting connection for a capillary has a sealing bushing, a compression bushing, and a backing bushing. The backing bushing has a bore for pressing the sealing bushing and the compression bushing into the backing bushing, and the sealing bushing and the compression bushing are each provided with a central bore for feeding through a capillary tube. The bore of the backing bushing has a partly slightly conical bore end for achieving a grouting of the sealing bushing such that the inner wall of the central bore of the sealing bushing exerts a surface pressure being effective in radial direction onto the external wall of the capillary end within the contact area between the external wall of the capillary and the inside surface of the central bore.

  • Patent number: 5653876
Abstract: In order to reduce the overall size of serial pump arrangements, several block-disk-like building elements are used. These building elements are made of a non-metallic material and lie against each other with their control surfaces in a sandwich like stack. Two of the block-disk-like building elements have displacement chambers oriented transversely to the axis of the stack, in each of which is guided a push piston. Inflow and outflow bores in which the high pressure mass flow, for example a chemical buffer, is created, extend parallel to the stack axis. Both building elements form two serially arranged pumping units of the serial pump arrangement and ensure a constant and continuous mass flow. Check valves are provided at the suction and delivery sides of both pumping units. Besides saving space, this arrangement ensures a highly constant and continuous mass flow, as the throughflow paths are as short as possible.

  • Patent number: 4915591
Abstract: The pump head liner of a small-size precision reciprocating metering pump, which has its application particularly in High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), is made of transparent material, preferably of synthetic sapphire or monocrystalline zirconium oxide. A pump head casing is designed such that a pump head liner is visually accessible. Cartridge-type check valve units of transparent components are associated with the pump head casing and pump head liner and mounted to be visually accessible. The opening and closing of a ball in a check valve unit can be monitored by an optical sensing system in order to obtain a feed-back signal for governing a control circuitry, having the purpose of compensating the influence of the specific compressibility of the liquid being pumped, upon the pumping efficiency of the displacement system under conditions of high and highest working pressures.

Cartridge-type check valve units abut onto the pump head liner on the one side, and onto a connecting adapter piece featuring an elbow liquid duct on the other. Pre-loading pressure for liquid sealing is exerted onto the connecting adapter piece by means of a compression screw which is secured in a clamp bracket or L-shaped angled clamping piece. The cartridge-type check valve units can be composed of transparent components and thereby are visually accessible.

  • Patent number: 4572056
Abstract: The present invention relates to a plunger or floating piston pump which is particularly adapted for use as a small-size metering pump in performing chemical analyses. In a pump head casing there is disposed a plunger guide bushing made of a ceramic material in which a plunger made of sapphire is slidably guided permanently with extreme accuracy in relation to the bore in an annular seal, said annular seal itself cooperating with said plunger in such a way that there is no clearance between the plunger and said plunger guide bushing. In a modification of the invention, said displacement chamber is formed in a pump head liner which is mounted in said pump head casing. The pump head liner is made of a chemically inert material, preferably of a ceramic material.

  • Patent number: 4359312
Abstract: A piston pumping system is disclosed having a pair of piston pumps operated by plungers with roller follows which ride in rotary cam plate grooves. The grooves are arranged such that the delivery of each pump overlaps the suction of the other pump. Means are provided to sense any pulsations in pressure to change the cam speed during the precompression phase of operation and means are provided to sense delivery pressure and to adjust cam plate speed during the interval between the initial phase of delivery and the end of the precompression stroke.
