  • Patent number: 5445212
Abstract: The invention relates to a casting wheel of a strip casting machine. The casting wheel comprises a casting ring (30) mounted and borne internally on freely rotatable rollers (31a, b, 33a, b). In the zone of the position at the start of casting, the rollers (31a, b) are rigidly mounted via a supporting element (32), while on the opposite side they are radially adjustable via a-supporting element (34a, b). In this way deformations of the casting ring (30) due to heating during casting can be absorbed without a change in the position of the casting ring (30) as at the start of casting. The casting ring (30) is driven from outside via at least one driving element (30b) which is connected via a transmission member (30a) to the casting ring (30).

  • Patent number: 5201360
Abstract: The invention relates to a casting wheel having an interchangeable casting ring 8. The casting ring 8 is secured on an inner member 7 of the casting wheel 1 by adjustable radially and outwardly acting pressure members 17, 18 engaging with the edges of the casting ring 8. The pressure members 17, 18 center the casting ring 8, which they secure axially. The casting ring can be mounted in a problem-free manner when the pressure members are relieved of pressure.

  • Patent number: 5184788
Abstract: An apparatus for coiling webs of material, more particularly webs of material (5) arriving from a ribbon casting machine, and for coiling the webs of material (5) if necessary. For the purposes of guiding and coiling, brush rollers (20, 21, 23-26) are used consisting of axially spaced-out annular disc-shaped brush elements between which guide elements (27) extending in the direction in which the ribbon runs are disposed, which prevent the web of material (5) of low rigidity from becoming wound around a brush roller (20, 21, 23-26).

  • Patent number: 5086826
Abstract: The cast metal strip is retained on both sides between supporting and conveying elements, the supporting and conveying elements comprising on one side a group of wire cables 6, 12, 18, 27 and on the other side either a similar group of wire cables 5, 24 or a cooling roller 11, 17 or a coiler 23. The wire cables 5, 6, 17, 18, 24 and 27 ensure that the cast metal strip 4 is guided with as small a contact area as possible, so that on the one hand the strip is less stressed and on the other hand can irradiate heat.
