  • Patent number: 5970699
Abstract: In order to quickly exchange empty sleeves (18) for full bobbins (6)in a roving frame, guiding rails (14, 21, 22) are mounted along at least one row of flyers (4). A suspended carriage train (15) with hangers (16) can be driven on the guiding rails (14, 21, 22). By lifting and lowering the bobbin rail (5), the bobbins (6) can be transferred from the bobbin rail (5) to the hangers (16) of the suspended carriage train (15) and sleeves (18) can be moved from the hangers to the bobbin rail. The bobbin rail (5) and/or the guiding rails (14, 21, 22) can be moved back and forth. Fixed guiding rails (14) can rest on the bottom side of the flyer rail (3), and movable guiding rails (21, 22) are arranged in the area below the flyers (4). Such guiding rails may be designed to slide or swivel.

  • Patent number: 5713194
Abstract: A roving frame for producing large-diameter and small-diameter roving bobbins has two rows of work stations with the work stations lying at vertices of a triangle for the production of small-diameter bobbins, flyers of a small span are provided for each of the spindles at each of the work stations whereas these flyers are replaced by large-span flyers which are located at every second work station. The triangle base has a length L which is just slightly greater than the diameter of the flyer in the case of the small diameter bobbins whereas the triangle side lengths are substantially equal to the diameter of the large-span bobbins.

  • Patent number: 4996926
Abstract: A guiding device for a traveling service unit for a spinning machine having guide rollers supporting the service unit on the floor and related to a rail engaging member to maintain the service unit at a predetermined spacing from a guide running along the machine. In one form of the invention, the guide rollers are pivotally mounted and are pivoted by a connecting rod of the rail engaging member to direct the guide rollers toward or away from the rail upon any deviation of the travel of the service unit so that the service unit will be guided at a proper spacing from the rail and, therefore, from the components of the spinning machine. The control rod can be maintained in proper relation to the rail by followers on the rod straddling the rail or by a spring mounted on the servicing unit and biasing a follower roller on the rod against the rail.

  • Patent number: 4843972
Abstract: A traveling service unit for an associated textile spinning mill machine may be elevationally adjusted with respect to a reference rail mounted longitudinally along the machine by a feeler guide element pivotably mounted to the service unit in following engagement to the reference guide rail in conjunction with an operatively associated controller connected with vertically adjustable roller support assemblies of the service unit 1 for varying the elevation of the service unit 1 as necessary to compensate for deviations in the pivotal disposition of the feeler guide element with respect to horizontal.

  • Patent number: 4843810
Abstract: In a traveling service unit of the type utilized in conjunction with a textile spinning mill machine, the transverse and longitudinal inclination of the service unit with respect to the machine is monitored and adjusted with respect to a fixed horizontal reference plane by at least two electronic levels or like inclination detectors each operatively connected through an associated controller with a vertically-adjustable roller wheel supporting assembly of the service unit for controlling the elevation of the service unit at each supporting assembly to compensate for detected inclination deviations.

  • Patent number: 4805352
Abstract: An apparatus for automatic exchange of at least one full bobbin with at least one empty bobbin in a flyer, i.e. a flyer doffer, comprises a transport device reaching the flyer acting to transport the full bobbins and the empty bobbins, a doffing region and a mounting region which reach the spindles of the flyer for groupwise exchange of the full bobbins with the empty bobbins on the spindles and a lifting region reaching the transport device for groupwise exchange of the full with empty roving bobbins on the transport device. The doffing region and the mounting region on one hand and the lifting region on the other hand are spatially separate from each other. An exchanging region extending to the doffing, mounting and lifting regions is provided. Advantageously the doffing region and the mounting region are combined in a single doffing and mounting region.
