Abstract: A continuous process for preparing pigmented thermoplastic molding compositions in an extruder, comprises I) in a first zone A) metering in from 10 to 99.999% by weight of a thermoplastic polymer into an extruder and II) in a subsequent zone at temperatures below the respective glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic A) B) adding from 0.001 to 60% by weight of a colorant and then heating the thermoplastic/colorant mixture in the subsequent zones, homogenizing the polymer melt and extruding the resultant mixture.

Abstract: Free-flowing granules of thermoplastic elastomers are obtained by applying a finely divided mineral powder, namely a silicate from the group comprising wollastonite, kaolinite or mica, in an amount of from 0.005 to 0.5%, based on the amount of elastomer, to the surface of the granules.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of reinforced, impact-modified thermoplastic molding compositions which contain, based on 100 parts by weight,A) from 30 to 93 parts by weight of one or more thermoplastics from the group comprising the polyamides, polyesters, polycarbonates and polyphenylene ethers,B) from 5 to 50 parts by weight of fibers, preferably glass fibers, andC) from 2 to 20 parts by weight of one or more impact-modifying rubbers,in which processthe fibers (B) are first introduced into the melt of the thermoplastic (A),components (A) and (B) are mixed,the rubber (C) is then introduced into the resultant mixture in the melt, andthe resultant molding composition is extruded and granulated,wherein the reaction is carried out in one step, expediently at a constant temperature in the range of, advantageously, from 250.degree. to 300.degree. Abstract: Thermoplastic molding composition based on thermoplastic polyesters (a.sub.1), graft polymers incorporating acrylate rubbers as grafting base (a.sub.2), copolymers of aromatic vinyl monomers and acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile (a.sub.3) and glass fibers (B) have particularly good mechanical properties if the (meth)acrylonitrile content in component (a.sub.3), based on the total weight of (a.sub.3), is less than the (meth)acrylonitrile content of component (a.sub.22).

Abstract: Thermoplastic nylons are stabilized with copper compounds and synergistic halides by incorporation of from 0.1 to 10% of a concentrate of nylon, copper bromide or iodide and calcium bromide, zinc bromide or magnesium bromide. The stabilized nylons may be thermoplastically processed to give semimanufactures or films.
