Abstract: A single-ended forward frequency converter which includes a transformer and a storage capacitor C1 wherein the storage capacitor C1 forms a main resonant circuit with an inductance L1 and a series circuit comprising a capacitor C3 and a resistor R1 is connected across the transformer Tr as a demagnetization means. The capacitor C3 of the RC series circuit is selected so that an additional resonant circuit is formed with the capacitor C3 and the shunt inductance of the transformer Tr and wherein the resonant circuit of this circuit is approximately the same as that of the main resonant circuit comprising the inductor L1 and the capacitor C1.
