Patent number: 6791016Abstract: According to the invention, there is provided a novel soybean variety, designated 93M40. This invention thus relates to the seeds of soybean variety 93M40, to the plants of soybean 93M40 to plant parts of soybean variety 93M40 and to methods for producing a soybean plant produced by crossing soybean variety 93M40 with another soybean plant, using 93M40 as either the male or the female parent. This invention also relates to methods for producing a soybean plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes and to the transgenic soybean plants and plant parts produced by those methods. This invention also relates to soybean varieties or breeding varieties and plant parts derived from soybean variety 93M40, to methods for producing other soybean varieties, lines or plant parts derived from soybean variety 93M40 and to the soybean plants, varieties, and their parts derived from use of those methods.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2003Date of Patent: September 14, 2004Assignee: Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.Inventors: Debra Kay Steiger, Herbert J. Patent number: 6229078Abstract: An inbred sunflower line, designated PHA305, the plants and seeds of inbred sunflower line PHA305, methods for producing a sunflower plant either inbred or hybrid, produced by crossing the inbred sunflower line PHA305 with itself or with another sunflower plant, and hybrid sunflower seeds and plants produced by crossing the inbred line PHA305 with another sunflower line or plants and to methods for producing a sunflower plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes and to the transgenic sunflower plants produced by that method. This invention also relates to inbred sunflower lines derived from the inbred sunflower line PHA305, to methods for producing other inbred sunflower lines derived from inbred sunflower line PHA305, and to the inbred sunflower lines derived by the use of those methods.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1999Date of Patent: May 8, 2001Assignee: Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.Inventors: Herbert J. Patent number: 4227537Abstract: An endometrial brush and method of using, the endometrial brush including a slidable protective sleeve for protecting bristles of the endometrial brush from wetting and contamination by cervical tissue during insertion of the endometrial brush through the cervix and into the endometrial cavity of the patient. The protective sleeve is composed of tubular flexible material which is slid forward along a shaft of the endometrial brush to cover the bristles during insertion. After the bristle section of the brush is in its desired position in the endometrial cavity, the protective sleeve is slid backward along the shaft, thereby uncovering the bristles. The handle is then manipulated to cause the bristles to scrape the walls of the endometrial cavity, thereby collecting sample tissue and/or cells. The brush is then withdrawn through the cervix. The collected sample is smeared on a microscope slide and analyzed.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1978Date of Patent: October 14, 1980Assignee: Tucson Medical Instruments, Inc.Inventors: Thomas N. Suciu, Herbert J. Schmidt
